#gray 57 this isn't the first motor I'm building

GGary5703 Oct 2014, 06:03

Sure there are decent engine builders in JHB.

DDrillergy03 Oct 2014, 07:40

Gary is the CA guru. In anycase, if your bearings are done, you gonna have to send if to the engineers. Atleast let them build your long block.

cut open your oil filter. Check oil pick up isn't blocked. dents on your sump. Too late to check oil pressure with spun bearings.

Oh! and the first thing you do with an SX is get an oil pressure guage.

Cheers Cuzzo!

Hi guys i need to know is synethic oil bad for the .ca break in

SSonOfAnarchy ZAadmin13 Oct 2014, 14:06

you should not be breaking a motor in rather running it in. and no that would not be the reason you ran bearings.

jjoey.lazarus0113 Oct 2014, 20:36

#handsovermyeyes that's what i meant

GGary5713 Oct 2014, 20:55

Use mineral oil

GGary5714 Oct 2014, 06:22

Correct, mineral oil is used for break in procedure.

Change every 250km. Lots of literature online with regards to engine break in procedures.
