Thanks Charel, sounds awesome. Are guys going for a practise on Friday afternoon/night? If so let me know what time..

Did someone phone or speak to George? Still need a 4th Drifter if we can..

VVladeadmin10 Jan 2008, 09:30

It aint gonna be me, I still need some practice and smaller front tires.

CChemCooladmin10 Jan 2008, 09:36

we will make it for friday night! Will go get some tires fitted just to let you guys know that i think 4guys are too many to do a show unless we allowed on the track at the same time?

CChemCooladmin10 Jan 2008, 11:13

Jay Boy, the owner of the track TIM will be there and I suggest you people discuss all those issues with him Friday evening when you all practising.

qqewrty10 Jan 2008, 11:36

I reckon even guys that are not going to be drifting can also pitch up on Friday as we can just chill, support the drifters, have a drink & maybe play a game of pool..

JJay_boy10 Jan 2008, 14:18

thanx fredy will do that, and the drinks and talking some kak sounds great 🙂 so we drifters that have actually done the thing can give some tips and hints to the guys who want to learn, not saying we the best but got the scars no our cars to prove it 🙂 lol

Oddly enough D1 doesn't stop for the rain, but then they have sponsors to cover the body work.

Tim says his weatherman is predicting that it will actually clear up in time tomorrow. So nothing is canceled, yet.

I asked about the practise this afternoon and he said that the track is wet at the moment so I'll phone later then we can make a call.

If there's no practice today we can have some tomorrow morning.

JJay_boy11 Jan 2008, 14:13

look a wet track is great for bigginers and it doesnt put a strain on your car besides i just want to go to finalise every thing with tim and find out finer details and where this is going so if we can practice bonus if not doesnt matter 🙂

Don't tempt me my car is less than 99% ready!

Good idea, those that can & want can still go through with you and have a chat to Tim and work out the details.

I'm stuck on the west rand, couldn't get out of here to avoid the traffic early enough. I'll call you guys later and see if you're still there etc.

Some sheep sit more than 8hrs a week in traffic, basically implying you work a day extra every week just to work 5 days usually unappreciated & underpaid.

to the beginners... and those interested in trying it out...

that oval in the wet will be perfect. when its wet, it seriously slows down the pace, thus decreasing the learning curve. if its still slightly wet, and you can make it - you should go.

corners that would normally get taken at 80mk/h can be taken at like 40km/h in the wet. its awesome.

and it really is easier on the car.

DO IT, DO IT!!!

qwerty, you specially man. you wont believe how easy the rain makes things. you'll definitely get it right if you go tonight and its raining!

Dammit I said don't tempt me, WHEN my car breaks I'll need a backup, which I am working on..trust me the bug bit.

If the speeds are lower and if its lighter on the car then it will be lighter on the track too..so it sounds awesome.

In fact, if you think about it, taking a turn at 40km/h in the wet is NOT all that uncommon so this kind of drifting can actually turn out to be of practical use for us no-traction-control-FR's..

So what's the official time for the Shell garage meetup now?? I am confused between the 10am on the cellphone application and the 14h00 and 15h00 times mentioned...
