Ja I saw that too but there is a bit more weight all round in the R31.

I think its gotta be insanely hard drifting a s13 with a RB25DET conversion. I know Ian struggled with his s14 and thats easier than a s13.

But anyway...your setup looks awesome mate and I'd love to feel the g's in your car!

Top Stuff!

Not sure that it would be insanely hard. I do understand that the s13 under steers and that the extra weight upfront wont help, how ever with a good set of coil overs and the strut bars would help alleviate sum of that. With the extra power, when you get into the corner you can use the power to get it to slide(obviously once the weight shift begins). So initiation of the drift plausible. Where i think it gets tricky once you are sideways with all that power the throttle control becomes interesting. especially when the boost hits in this monster!!

also off topic...

but i've personally drifted bruno's s13 powered by RB25det. ok it was pretty much a stock rb25det when i drove it, but it put down over 200kw's to the wheels. not sure of Nm's.

he had some front chassis stiffening done, and the car had tien basic coilovers on at the time. it was one of the easiest cars i've ever had the pleasure of throwing sideways!!! just so simple. and so much speed. i dont mean power, i mean speed. for instance, on a highway onramp we were doing 80km/h, i saw a gap and planted it. i only looked back at the clocks once we were dodging traffic going the same direction BUT coming towards us. this was because in the short distance of the freeway onramp, and a short stretch of straight tar, we were already over 220km/h. i backed off quickly when i saw the spedo!!!

as for being heavy in front. it really wasnt a problem, even with only the basic tein's on. i was immensely impressed, and had i not found such a great deal on the sr20det, i would probably still be saving for an RB25det. it really really is a great drift car!!! im sure its also a great drag car...

and i will go out there and say that with a stockish RB25det it must be one of the best EVER everyday cars - 'cept for fuel consumption! but you forget about that nonsense so quickly with a car like that!

ok back to topic!

so, update time... started assembly of rudeboys new RB25

CP pistons on Eagle rods:

ACL race bearings and ARP studs:

Tomei oil pump drive and N1 oil pump:

Pistons in block:

N1 water pump next to std (blade almost 10mm bigger)

vveecee06 Jul 2008, 18:26

sjoe - dis baie mooi ne'.

and that n1 water pump housing also looks a little thicker.

very very nice stuff there dude. well done...

so many pistons - they look damn nice all in a row like that!

VVladeadmin07 Jul 2008, 06:24

Jeez what compression are you gonna run?

Very nice... CP rocks, never a day of piston slap 8)

RRBSX07 Jul 2008, 14:21

DUDE..........
YOH.....off the chizang

is this a 600hp job here

RRudeBoy07 Jul 2008, 14:39

Vlade comp should be similar to std, std pistons hang out +_0.5mm (tx rezlo for that info) these 0.55mm so not much diff.

RBSX .. 670hp or 500kw is the target but i'd be fairly happy if we only manage 600hp...

RRBSX09 Jul 2008, 15:37

600rwhp or fly

RRudeBoy09 Jul 2008, 16:26

want 670rwhp and willing to boost 😂

plus theres always the option adding some happy gas..... spent almost 5hrs file fitting the ring gaps for turbo/nos application...

if the 760cc injectors allow we'll boost the gt35 to +- 1.8bar, and if it doesnt, we'll upgrade them to 1000cc top feed with greddy top feed fuel rail and AEM or aeromotive regulators, etc, already have a walbro pump, but that can also be upgraded if need be...

can still go bigger on wtr/meth jet aswell

PPeewee09 Jul 2008, 20:32

Gee gees = horses.

Myself, I will take a rain check on the "tom tom trials". Let me know how it goes.
