Hey Riekert

Have you sorted the electronic problem yet ?

Any updates? :200sx_taz:

RRiekertadmin17 Apr 2009, 11:17

Hey man... almost.

I got the wrong bolts for the exhuast 3 times!!! agh!! so will start it again tonite to check everything. hopefully with the exhaust back on and the plugs cleaned it will idle better... will take a vid tonite of the progress. 😂

Cool that's good news!!

Just a bit of useless info - Go and buy Beroxide (the stuff women use to dye their hair) that will clean all alimunuim parts perfectly, it will look like they were just casted a few minutes ago.

Specially if you had to assemble and strip, assemble and strip, then all parts has black grease marks all over. This will make everything look brand new again. 8)

I always use Allenkey bolts on exhaust manifolds and turbo's because of the space makes it easier. Those studs and nuts can drive you crazy. 😈

i see you still got the stripe

So fitted the exhuast last hite when I got home from work... sounds nice.

idling is good ish... sounds like it has a misfire sometimes though...

This morning I got up and started searching for that rattle.

And I found it!! its the damn bracket holding on the alternator... it didn't have a bolt in... so every time the engine vibrates on a certain pitch... it starts to rattle... fixed it and then I heard the second problem... My BOV is leaking... it doesn't close properly??

I connected it to the vacuum hose like every one said but for some reason the BOV doesn't close in vacuum. You rev the car. (not even in boost) it dumps and then doesn't close.

Any Ideas?

yes +1

RRiekertadmin19 Apr 2009, 19:15

mmm.... fix?

vveecee19 Apr 2009, 19:29

strip the bov, and find out why its sticky, and sort it out, or get yourself a new one???

well thats the thing. Its a brand new one I got from Hanco

rratadmin19 Apr 2009, 22:23

check theres no leaks in the vacuum hose

RRiekertadmin19 Apr 2009, 23:22

that might be it... the thing is its like its sucking the BOV open the whole time. Like there is too much vacuum??

vveecee20 Apr 2009, 05:46

set it harder?

So I'll need to adjust the spring then? cause it doesn't have a setting on it...

DDracomoderator20 Apr 2009, 08:12

Yes, set the screw, tighten it, it forces the spring down on the shaft making it harder for the vacuum to open it, also oil the shaft now and then...just moisten it with thin oil.

ppoizenmoderator20 Apr 2009, 08:37

i heard the fake hks dump can cause alot of hassels not sure the quality of the one you got but read they jam etc

mmm... will take it apart and post pics.

I didn't see that it had a screw like that... so not sure how to adjust it.

Ja, I've also heard that....

HHighboost20 Apr 2009, 13:25

Not all dumpvalves are adjustable.... (with screw)

But all Dumpvalves can be adjusted 😂

Step 1 : unscrew dumpvalve
Step 2 : Remove spring
Step 3 : Insert washer, big enough so spring sits on top of washer.(piston side )
Step 4 : Replace Spring
Step 5 : Screw back together.

Repeat till required tension is reached.
