How did the shims get so bad anyway? Is there a shed load of swarf and gunk in the head?

Well the head was a bit gunky... but ja... motor was in good condition but the previous rebuild screw something up I think...

Would be good if you had the cash to rebuild it from the ground up for a piece of mind

I'm removing the head again... sending it in to get checked for shim clearance ect ect.

GEtting a new HG and checking that the pistons is 100%

should be respraying the front end end of the month... so should look good.

so at least I got to do something on the SX this weeked... my new wheels fitted. 😀

Now for the removal of the rest of the head and getting the new headgasket etc

Ok, so I removed the head last nite... valves looks 100% still... tonite I'm going to measure the valve clearance ect ect...

I also turned the motor with the head off and it turns fine... sigh...

Will do the head completely... then drop the sump just to see it there is any crap in there. if not fit everything again and swing it again to see whats up.

Well basically want to get the motor sorted, then see from there... Think the best is to sell the SR and get myself another one...

where do you get those IC piping from? were they custom made?
