Ok, for the next set of upgrades to my sx I'm going to focus on suspension mods.

Now what are my option in this department? I already have strut braces and sub frame spacers.

I'm thinking a nice set of tein lowering springs. Would these make a good difference in how my sx handles? I don't want to spend a huge amount of money of buying expensive coilovers at this stage. When I eventualy go forcoilovers I'l go big and get some tein super streets or something but for now I can justify spending that kind of money.

So what do you guys think? What would be my best bet?

add poly bushes to that equation and you will be amazed at the improvement!

So, you think with the tein lowering springs and the polyuethrane bushes I would be good to go?

I can get the tein lowering springs and the poly bushes together for a total for R4000 delivered. Does that sound reasonable?

rratadmin04 Aug 2008, 21:23

where from?

vveecee04 Aug 2008, 21:24

very reasonable.

DO IT!!! but bank on another 2.5 grand or so to get the polybushes installed!

i reckon that setup would work wonders. not too much like stock, not too much like a race car!!!

drive on coilovers, then you will realise what comfort really is, and how helpful kidney belts really are!!!

TTrance10104 Aug 2008, 21:52

@rat: Its from www.frsport.com It works out to a total of about R4100 with shipping for both items. If you wanna order some stuff from there aswell. let me know and we can split shipping if you want.

@veecee: 😂 ya, coilover will be for when my sx turns into a full race/drift car and not my daily drive anymore 🙂

2.5 grand to install poly bushes 😮 I knew that they were a mission to install just didn't know it was 2.5 grands worth of a mission 😂

vveecee05 Aug 2008, 07:29

another option is volkspares in jhb.

they stock the prothane polybushes for the 200sx. they look much easier to install and they cost about 1800-00. not sure what shipping would be from jhb.

i've done this job a few times, and i wouldnt do it for less than 2500-00. it requires a complete strip and rebuild of all of the suspension components and the steering rack. its a huge job! and the person installing it has to have a press, or be very good with a bench vice!

I have just ordered the following 2 sets of goodies 😛

They should be here in about 2 weeks. I can't wait! 😈

RRiekertadmin07 Aug 2008, 00:17

nice!!!!

rratadmin13 Aug 2008, 08:45

Update, has your stuff come?

TTrance10113 Aug 2008, 11:00

Nope, they haven't arrived yet. My order was shipped on the 8th so it should be here late next week. I'm hoping all goes as planned and I can have the bushes and springs done in time for the track day.

rratadmin13 Aug 2008, 11:14

will be cutting it fine, going to take some time to do the bushes

Yeah i know. Really hoping everything will work out in time. My main worry is that my shipment gets stuck in customs or summing like that.

vveecee13 Aug 2008, 23:16

uhm... with a friend to help, and with no experience and none of the nice fancy tools...

it shouldn't take you more than two full days to do the bushes!!!
