just something fyi, that i heard from some guys in the game, if you use double diaphram springs like in the pic above, your crank thrust bearings will wear out much sooner, i have no personal experience with this, just what ive heard.. 😕

DDracomoderator20 Aug 2008, 13:12

I really hope it works out for you, my reasoning apart from price and so forth, if I buy something local that does not work, I go back and do what I need to do to get the working item I paid for, in your case, if it only holds for 2 weeks, what are you going to do?

I suspect you'le just have to order a new one from somewhere else...
What is true is we have a lot of local bullshitters, it is up to us to not use them again and let others know what is happening. These places should not be in business.

I am sure, knowing you, you will have some reasoning, that is your right.

Makes sense, more push, more forward movement, more wear...

Frankly I don't know if it's the trueth or not, it make a little sense though, but I must say, me and Chem baught ours at the same place at the same time, in the beginning it was hard and shudderd a bit, after a month or two there is a big difference, much lighter on your leg and shuddering starts to disappear, I doubt that a month or so of "stiffness" will cause to much harm unless the bearings were olmost shot before it was installed.

Got the all four disks today was really surprised they came with Pads, Hope to install them next week some time.
Pic’s to follow.

Well looks like I got the first incorrect order from the states, I thought this was going to happen some time.

The rear Disks/Rotors supplied seems to be incorrect the centre section is around 10mm shorter then the stock rotor, all other dimensions are correct, I have contacted the company but I am not holding out any hope to have these replaced or money returned. From the info I can gather they seem to be the non ABS rotor/Disks but I have found sites out there saying they are interchangeable so I am just confused

vveecee21 Aug 2008, 09:37

hey PFB are you saying the hat is 10mm shorter?

meaning the disc surface area will be 10mm away from its normal position.

PPinkfluffybunnys21 Aug 2008, 10:39

Kind of Very difficult to explain could be resolved easy using a spacer I think .

But the length it 10mm shorter, but everything I have read on the internet (Bad info possibly) says the ABS and Non Abs rear disks are interchanged but the ABS and non ABD have different pads

PPinkfluffybunnys28 Aug 2008, 16:34

Sorry Guys the flywheel is in for skimming.

Car is still on the lift will keep you posted

PPinkfluffybunnys01 Sept 2008, 22:19

Hi Guys drove the car the first time this Afternoon after the clutch was installed. First off it was not all rainbows and Sun shine, The pressure plate did not fit and we needed to removed a Dwell pin from the fly-wheel when we installed it.

Also Learned that not all pressure plates are created equal the new unit is 1.1 Kg lighter then the old one, It softer then stepping on a marshmallow and grips like shit on a blanket, If I clutch kick in second gear I brake traction on the back-end instantly its almost unforgiving and is going to be a bi@th to drive in the wet

Over all I am very Happy with the install the total bill is expensive.

Congrats man! Your car is getting along nicely!

The price aint that bad if you look at what a new nissan clutch cost! 😮

GGary5702 Sept 2008, 08:24

So you say the clutch is soft, is it like std?? Is there any shudder??

PPinkfluffybunnys03 Sept 2008, 14:16

HI Guys…

I just want to add on thing to this Topic and to all the drifters out there this clutch system is unrelenting I have almost turned my car around 5 times since it was put it, It does not slip it like a ON\Off switch.
It’s also super soft with no sign of the bite threshold like my old unit, If you are Drifter I would recommend this Unit
