Thank you fellow SX owners for all the help and suggestions! 🙂
I think I should make those fans flush because they aren't...
And there is a bolt in the block somewhere where the water from the block can be drained. We'll try and see if those pipes trough the block are mucky and try clean them out...

What? Uhm not good. Meaning in the water jackets?

2200SXSilviaSavage07 Oct 2008, 19:26

Not sure??? It's not the welsh plug though... Just wanna try and clear out the muck in the block...
So taking that bolt out to drain the water from the block not a good idea?
How else can we check if all the water lines in the block are flowing fine?

Sheeash sorry bro read that wrong, thought there was a bolt in the block somewhere....had me scared there!

There is a bleeding screw. VC please correct me. I think thats what you are talking about?

2200SXSilviaSavage07 Oct 2008, 19:38

Better hope so bro, ha ha 😂 😂 😂

vveecee07 Oct 2008, 23:26

technically there are lots of bolts in the block. keeps everything in place.

as for drainage bolts - i'm sure you could find one or two, but the engine is in the car right??? cos then its gonna be a BIATCH!

howzit guys if i lookd right there is a bolt on te turbos side it uses a 19 spanner
at the backish

i may b wrong

2200SXSilviaSavage08 Oct 2008, 11:34

Thanx guys... I'll check it out VC, it has to be done no matter how hard It's gonna be if it can be done anyway! Lol And i think the drain bolt is on the turbo side too... Tnx Xavier...

2200SXSilviaSavage08 Oct 2008, 19:49

Tried to get that drain bolt undone and it's not funny how tight it is so I tried to flush the block from the inlets but no mess came out so I'm pretty much back to square 1 😕
Checked the water pump too and it's working fine so I really don't know what's the problem anymore... 🙁

joh man. If its HG you will see signs of that in the oil.

How do you know for sure that its over heating? Is it the reading on your temp gauge? or what?

2200SXSilviaSavage08 Oct 2008, 20:13

It's the reading on the temp gauge and that the engine is very hot when you open the hood!

Well it should be hot when you open it. And hook up another temp gauge to get a second opinion. Maybe the temp gauge is faulty.

Flush the radiator again and the engine.

Are there no other signs? You say your oil looks fine? no white stuff in there?

Also do a HG test.

This one sounds like there is one little stupid thing not connected or wrongly connected or something like that.

2200SXSilviaSavage08 Oct 2008, 20:35

Yeah that's probably the case 🙄
Got hold of a compression tester, so I'll test that soon...
Maybe I should put some anti-freeze in, maybe that's the magic mooty my engine needs 😂

Maybe hay, just try the cheap stuff before you take the head off. 😉

2200SXSilviaSavage08 Oct 2008, 20:41

Yeah I will trust me! lol

I tried the sleepy eye thing today, cut the brown wire, but then my lights didn't wanna come up anymore like they're supposed to :x
How exactly do you do the sleepy eye thing? Am I doing something wrong?

Ha ha yeah I know of people cutting the brown wire. I dont like cutting things, so thats not the way I do mine. And anyway when you cut the wire it opens the lights halfway. I dont want mine halfway so I do it manually! 😂 😂 😂

2200SXSilviaSavage08 Oct 2008, 20:50

HaHa How do you do it manually without breaking something? lol

Very easy. You open your(hot in your case) bonnet, then you will see two brown knobs. Then you turn those knobs till you get the right height you want them, and voila there you go.(but every time you switch on your lights it will reset back to the old position.)

2200SXSilviaSavage08 Oct 2008, 21:01

Shweet man! Thanx for that... I think the sleepy eye look looks seriously hawt 😂
