ppoizenmoderator03 Nov 2010, 14:59

i like my t3 tho top mout looks sexy and i dont know the condition of this turbo so ill stick with what i know works i might change back one day

i just want this painted and looking sexy like riekerts and running

rratadmin03 Nov 2010, 15:04

I would take the T28 from you

aandre_sx03 Nov 2010, 15:06

if the t28 is still ok You can ask R3k I think

what does it look like behind the valve cover

ppoizenmoderator03 Nov 2010, 15:28

ppoizenmoderator04 Nov 2010, 08:40

DDriftZ04 Nov 2010, 08:48

looks like a virgin!

hhentiebez04 Nov 2010, 09:12

just one tip, you going to do it over or not, take the oil rails of cut there ends of clean them very well weld or silver solder the end back and you will be 100%. trust me i know that its like not to do it.

ppoizenmoderator04 Nov 2010, 09:42

thanks hentie ill look into it do they get full of gunk

yip i just pulled the bottom off first time its been split from the factory and no shavings and strainer super clean not even dust

the oil is black but when you put on your finget you can see its still good

id say this motor has done no less than 60k-70k kms on it just by looking at the wear which to my naked eye is none

hhentiebez04 Nov 2010, 10:05

from standind for a very long time the oil tends to get sticky and those hole are not very big, just to be on the safe side. i lost a head like that.

ppoizenmoderator04 Nov 2010, 10:10

shot man yes ill need all the help i can get its a all new ball game this motor

ok im pulling them off now to have a look

DDriftZ04 Nov 2010, 10:17

surely you could just jet thinners through them to clean out the gunk?... seems a bit extreme to cut the ends off...

hhentiebez04 Nov 2010, 10:21

you can and at the same time you jet all the shit to the ends where they stay and come back to block the holes up again.

DDriftZ04 Nov 2010, 10:25

i havent seen how small the oil end jets are.. so i cant say for sure.. but if Henti lost a head to it.. its definitly something to consider.

though your motor looks super neat.. im jealous... Hows 8k sound 🙂

ppoizenmoderator04 Nov 2010, 10:26

all tips and advice noted thanks guys keep them comming

DDriftZ04 Nov 2010, 10:27

R8200

ppoizenmoderator04 Nov 2010, 10:28

hahaha driftz i need somthing to keep up with your beast

ddjtreble04 Nov 2010, 11:27

That is sooo clean! Lucky!

I'd suggest replacing the oil spray bars with new ones to eliminate any chance of missing any of the gunk in them. They aren't too expensive either and are deffinately worthwhile if they save you having to replace the head.

True, but if u want to make sure, just swing the motor (no plugs) without tappet cover, untill u have oil presure. Make sure all the holes spray oil on the cams.
Very nice clean engine, don think u will have a problem 😉
