I am actually considering quad bikes....

Unless you want to kill yourself - don't.

I love my bike, but will not get on a quad - nothing will break your ankles or your neck quicker.

Rather buy a trackday superbike - very fast and way safer than a quad. I've seen newish model ZX6's and CBR600 trackbikes for around R30k.

And before I get complaints about how that's possible - if you know anybody who has been in a quad accident you will know what I'm on about.

Well, we have 3 quad bikes!

Raptor 660 - bored out to a 700cc. Actually build for road use! Nice for drifting in town! Actually have tyres for the road!

LTZ 400 - Nice learner quad bike! But not there for performance! Fast when you never quad biked before, but still ripped a new asshole for the Banshee's

Ltr 450 - Chipped with a performance exhaust! Fu*& me! That thing is strong! Scares the shit out of me! Fell with it 4 weeks ago and Im still sore! But I did roll it on a motorcross track! Did a jump, was about 3 meters in the air when the quad started turning side ways in the air! Tire pressures wasnt equal, I forgot to check the pressure! Threw me off and rolled over me!

Nice experience, but I wont try that again soon!

Things with quads bikes. You have to be carefull with the right gear!

Nerve bars with netting is a must! Othewise you will break you ankles! And get proper boots! They cost around R1500 but its will save you ankle!

Motorcross pants and shirt and gloves! A must! You will have scuff marks for weeks if you dont! Decent helmet and goggles and the most important is a neckbrace!

Also safe up for a kill switch! Cause those quad bikes dont stop while the motor is running!

OH, and piece of advice, when you fall of a quad bike, roll, kick or jump as far from the quad bike! Cause it will drive or roll over you! That is way quads are so dangerous!

I get about 90km/h on the 450. Imagine falling and it rolling over you at that speed! The secret is in the safety equipment!

My 2cents!

I rest my face.

lol
Yeah, that's probably why nobody ever goes against the face 😛

Hope you get that SX dude - that's what you've really wanted since I joined the forum. Good luck.

DDracomoderator15 Oct 2008, 09:13

Thanks man, but I must say....the bmw with the supra motor is giving me thaughts!!!!!

vveecee15 Oct 2008, 09:56

the beemer is a great car too. specially since it has a decent motor in it now with that 2JZ.

do you have more info draco???

like is it a 2 or 4 door e30.
is the motor running?
wiring complete?
is it a stock motor?
who installed it?
can it go onto a lift to check out the workmanship under-the-neath???

ETC...

DDracomoderator15 Oct 2008, 10:17

I don't know much except that a guy is doing it for him, don't know from where, aparently the propshaft needs to be done, exhaust, wiring loom for management and the boost pipes, the motor has been started...

It's in the body of a 325....

vveecee15 Oct 2008, 11:06

that would be extremely tempting for me.

cos it already has one of the most reverred and supported motors of all time!

and its a good chassis too.

DDracomoderator15 Oct 2008, 11:09

Trust me....if the body isn't frot and all looks ok....she's mine!!!!!

EEnzio15 Oct 2008, 11:14

And like I said before - E30 BMW spares are a damn shot cheaper and more available than SX spares...

DDrillergy15 Oct 2008, 11:20

If its a charcoal grey or a dark coloured one then I think the bodywork is n a good v=condition

vveecee15 Oct 2008, 11:23

damn dude - the keyboard keep moving or you drunk???

DDrillergy15 Oct 2008, 11:47

Yessh, shirr!!!! 😂 😂 😂

DDracomoderator15 Oct 2008, 15:23

From what year was the BMW E30 produced?

vveecee15 Oct 2008, 15:32

the 80's sometime.

wiki will give you a timeline.

vveecee16 Oct 2008, 15:27

there's a half decent 325i at a filling station around the corner from me going for R16995-00.

its a cream colour 4 door, with the IS wing on the back.

looked like a litle rust at the bottom of the drivers side rear door.

DDracomoderator17 Oct 2008, 07:25

Thanks....I'd rather go for the supra 325

CCharlvdw17 Oct 2008, 07:30

Are you then gonna replace your sx picture two?

vveecee17 Oct 2008, 08:35

lol - true!!!

although a decent 325i is also quick. when we rebuilt sokar's 325i i was totally surprised at how fantastic that motor was. that car hauled, even here on the reef.

i actually think it was better than my ca18det.

DDrillergy17 Oct 2008, 08:36

Naah, just put SX badges on the car.

DDracomoderator17 Oct 2008, 11:08

🙄 Whatever car I buy.....it will have a huge sticker on the back window....Your eyes are deceiving you....this is a 200SX 😉

and NO!!!! I will not replace my sig!!!!!!!!!!!
