Yeah I must say it went well next is the rest of the engine... LOTS OF WORK REMAIN 😛 Lots and Lots...
Toby got to sort some stuff out before the engine is done
* Injectors
* Alternator

next time i'm feeling generous i will have to check myself... i guess it means i will get my shit back soon though!!!
good luck tobes.
So in total guys what did the rebuild set u back?
I think close to 6K
wat did that all include pistons, rod and bolts that it?
It's about R6400. Off the top of my head (no pun intended):
- engineering of head
- engineering of block
- engineering of crankshaft
- new bearings and piston rings
- new bearings for conrod small end
- new pistons
- manifold skimming
- new manifold nuts
- all the odds and ends I mentioned and new timing belt
- gasket kit
There are more expenses to come. Hopefully not "school fees", as Calibrator calls it.
Ok so call it R7K, but R7K well spent. After this you can go another 200 000Km on that motor 😂 .
Cool thanks
those pistons can they take knock wat power arte they good for?
I'd say about same as stock, not more, not less
If you plan to do a motor to handle some performance upgrades I'd say go for some forged ones.
VeeCee has some Arias forged pistons that are from a honda motor, they needed to be modded but so far its the cheapest I've seen PM him for details... Think the price now is R3800
I'll post details soon how to get your CP pistons from the states as soon as mine arrive, that and a full cost break down.
Yea guys, please bear in mind that my rebuild is all about reliability and not power. I will only be running stock boost, etc. on this engine. No mods unless necessary (e.g. the pistons only because I had to rebore the cylinder). Even if I had to put a bigger turbo, I would turn down the boost to keep the boost standard.
reminds me of a guy at my job who's buying his first bike - he also sez stuff like "i just want transport, i wont wheelie or go fast or wear 'biker hooligan clothes' or do stupid stuff"
ya ya...for now... 😈
power is evel.....the thurst always wins 😈
lol 😀 So true

a bigger turbo at standard boost, will still put strain on them pistons and rods because you're pumping more air in there!!! remember you should also be concerned about the turbo's rated CFM at specific boost pressures.
and vlade, the pistons are from arias, not from any old crappy honda. they're just a similar design to the honda ones, so they work in our sx motors!!!! 😉 😉 😉
Kewl Veecee do you guys have a place where you buy your parts from like a website link or something. I want to get a brake down on what kinda powa i can get with what kinda investment
