I have a problem...

I need to go to modifiers anonymous, I haven’t even received my new toys for the CA18 and I’m already looking at new stuff

R1700 including shipping ex Vat

and a nice set of coils

R3000 including shipping ex vat.

I thought you'd recently put in a new imported clutch? Why do you want another one? Or am I getting you mixed up with someone else?

GGuy23 Apr 2009, 13:34

I just got a lightened flywheel from Driftworks in the UK, cost me just over R3300, shipping via brother coming back from holiday.

Where are you getting that flywheel from?

No it just the flywheel, Im playing with the idea still as I need to send the car in to replace the rear crank seal so i can get it done all at once, Im still clearing with the company if it will work with my F1 Spec 3 clutch system

Nice but the drift works one is to expencive, this is a company on Ebay XTD, clutch kits and flywheel combo's are cheap at R3500

GGary5723 Apr 2009, 14:26

What is the weight of that flywheel??

GGary5723 Apr 2009, 14:50

Happy pulling off 😂

PPinkfluffybunnys23 Apr 2009, 15:08

Thats what the cams are for 8)

I was thinks about it . It would go nicely with the knife edged crank and lightened crank pulley and its only an extra loss of 4 kgs.

On boost she will rev like crazy, But coils first for the boost then the flywheel

GGary5723 Apr 2009, 15:32

I took about 5-6kgs off mine and to pull off I need to rev it. Slow pull offs are fine but hasty (not race) are a bitch because it bogs down.

PPinkfluffybunnys23 Apr 2009, 15:42

You get really weird issues.. 😂

I have lost around 2 kg on my front pulley, 3-4 kgs on the crank plus the light weight pistons and about 3kg on the fly plus the light weigh clutch assembly and I don’t have a single issue pulling off or rough Idle

But 5 kg is alot suprized the fly hasnt failed,

GGary5723 Apr 2009, 16:14

Yeah my crank is lightened also, sorry. 5kg off the fly and no failure yet, granted I dont drive like a plonker.

How did you loose 2kgs on your crank pulley?? The complete stock one weighs about that much.

PPinkfluffybunnys23 Apr 2009, 16:16

Yeah my crank is lightened also,

remember to update your build thread

my then it was 1 kg using the FWD pully

GGary5723 Apr 2009, 16:22

Hehe yeah yeah, I did say it in the thread.

So the FWD pulley is about half the weight??

GGary5724 Apr 2009, 13:49

So have you sorted the knock board?? What timing are you running, were you safe at 21degrees??

PPinkfluffybunnys24 Apr 2009, 14:01

Checking a few thing this weekend , havnt receaved the new board yet

PPinkfluffybunnys07 May 2009, 10:37

Howzit

Long Time no update, I have just received the Tomei Cam's for Japan Total cost was R4900 landed here will be installing them next weekend when I come back from Holiday now I will finally have an exhaust cam with a half moon section

It doesn’t look like I will be receiving a replacement NIStune Board from Matt he wants me to try out a few things first so I will give it a go if it fails I will send the new board back as my old board never gave me a day of shit.

I’m now stuck between cross roads on my project; I’m torn between a number of Idea’s but the next planned modification is a GT3076-WG till I change my mind again, It’s now time to added a good turbo and some boost to the CA18 but I’m planning on buying a house at the end of the year so most of my spare cash will disappear, I will need to get R12K before then for the Turbo Set-up also If I go the huge turbo route I have just bought the wrong cam’s isn’t that my luck

PPinkfluffybunnys19 May 2009, 18:37

Well I have finally Fitted my PonCam's and all I'm going to say if OMFG there is no drop off in the higher RPM Range it just keeps pulling till 7400RPM the turbo comes in earlier and spool is damn quick and I haven't even touched the tune so there is more power to be had.

I would recommend these Cams to anyone looking for a great upgrade they are well worth the 5 grand, There was only one catch my ignition timing is all the way to the left at 15 degress like I'm a tooth out on the cam timing but I have double checked the timing and all the marks are spot on so I don't know whats kooking there but it must just stay that way.
