Yeah, I also wondered bout that, Japan auto trading got a TD05 for R3900. What's the differences between them if they're around the same price

You read minds 2? Do you see dead people? 😀

RReeceZ26 Mar 2009, 10:29

No... but I hear voices sometimes... they tell me things

My turbo is actualy a little smaller. Only the housings are the same.

TD04 is only the spec for the cartridge not the housings... You have 13 size wheels and housings, I have the 15.

The TD05 is a bigger cartridge and in stock form has bigger wheels and bigger housings. It would be a very nice turbo for the CA18.

RReeceZ26 Mar 2009, 10:33

At what rev could you expect the TD05 to hit full boost?

GGary5726 Mar 2009, 10:42

What TD05??

RReeceZ26 Mar 2009, 10:48

The stock one you've mentioned

GGary5726 Mar 2009, 10:57

The ones I can get come in at about 3200rpm, it makes for a real nice drive. Its not like Ryans but a good balance.

RReeceZ26 Mar 2009, 11:02

You can get TD05s' as well?

Removed about 5kg from flywheel, it is very light and give a rough idle and need to rev to pull off.

Hope you have a serious 360deg scatter sheild because when it lets go (it will, not an If) youll be lucky to not have your feet ripped off let alone some poor bystander hit by bits of pressure plate and flywheel traveling at stupidly high speeds.

Any power figures with all those mods ? 1/4 mile time ?

Nope sorry.

I have to say, I have dyno prints of all my cars after I do mods, spend the little money to put it on a dyno and at least you know if what you do is working.(the same dyno everytime) Just by the way it feels on the road can be decieving. My S13 with 210kw feels quicker than S14 with 260kw just by the way the turbo spools up and the sudden rush of power, but in real life is slower. 1/4 mile are a good indication, but traction and driver can make a big differance.
So come on Gary and PFB, go to the same dyno and lets see who's mods produce the numbers. 😉
