Good progress buddy! There's an oke on the VWCSA forum that bought an MK3 Jetta and stripped out all the parts and sold them... He made R25K profit and duly bought himself a Jetta 4. Did the same again, and now he has a 132Kw Jetta 4 😈

Everything takes time boet, just hang in there! I'm still looking for a town planning job, so I know how it feels to not be able to do anything on your car... Armgatte FTW 😂

PP3g4susmoderator20 Jan 2011, 12:57

You know it man! not nice! But we are getting there! 😀

I will sell the stripped stuff later, just need to see what I want to do, and to keep!

I met a guy last night at the rock with a Caddy with a VR6 Turbo in it...

You know whats my planning! that motor will go south as soon as I get the halfcut! 😀

Will keep you guys posted, want to have the car totally stripped by Saterday afternoon if all goes to plan, Meaning all the "optional extras" off.
Well at least in the interior! 😀

But after Last night at the rock, I just want to get it drift ready as soon as posible 😳 😳 😳

RRiekertadmin20 Jan 2011, 22:30

Yay! 😀

Small update:

I just had the shock of my life! 😮 😮 First my spare wheel hole was so full that the bord was wet!

And secondly, took out the back part of the interior out in about 30 min... was way esier than I thought it will be!

oky, so the pics as promised:

As you can see I have to take out still the wiring, and to redo the boot, but thats not too bad, will be running like this with a full roll cage in it.

VVince23 Jan 2011, 13:47

Gonna look awsome with full cage 😀 , just how a dedicated drift car should be....

Haha thx man! yeah cant wait to start with that! Will be doing the spraying inn the week when it stops raining again, and when I am not too busy!!!!

What do you guys think? keep it white inside or change it to black?

Comments are welcome!!! 😀

ddjtreble23 Jan 2011, 14:05

Give it a fresh lick of bright white and keep the interior simple and clean...can't go wrong!

DDriftZ23 Jan 2011, 15:24

white interiors look neat if kept clean, but i prefer darker interiors = less distracting. Maybe a dark silver.

Thats my idea as well, white looks nice, but my thinking is that the white and smoke will not mix, Was actually thinking of gunmetal, Only real problem will be the heat of a darker color in the car!

ddjtreble23 Jan 2011, 18:49

Just clean it after each event as you would anyway, looks badass and at least you know if it looks clean inside, the car is clean 8)

LOL, probable the best solution yes! 😀

I wonder if must strip the whole car and wash everything and assemble again after words? Then I can see from an inner view what needs to be fixed?

ddjtreble23 Jan 2011, 19:07

Yeah if you going to do the job, do it properly.

Strip the car of all its bits, clean and remove unecessary things (sound deadening, etc) and then re-assemble with cage, paint job and only necessary parts if this car is purley for drifting.

i'm amped to see the progress...I love proper projects!

PP3g4susmoderator23 Jan 2011, 19:13

I am leaning to that option as well, I want it to be a pure drifter, even want to pull the car to the track on a trailer, thats how far I want to take it! 😀

One more thing, How strong is a S13 diff/ sideshafts? what power can it handle?

ddjtreble23 Jan 2011, 19:21

If it's purely for drifting, do it properly

I ran 350 BHP on standard rear end on the S13 with a welded diff without a single problem (and it was used, abused and drifted to within an inch of it's life). I believe people run a load more without any issues on the standard items. The rear end of a 200sx isnt really known to be weak underneath.

My BMW on the other hand went through 2 drive shafts in 5 drift days.... :?:

PP3g4susmoderator23 Jan 2011, 19:37

cool then I will see if it will hold on the setup I am going to run! Will start to strip the rest of the stuff on monday, will do the cleaning as well! will post pics as I go along! 😀

ddjtreble23 Jan 2011, 19:39

Looking forward to seeing it all!

DDriftZ24 Jan 2011, 07:40

i still personally prefer darker interiors for everything besides heat... Gunmetal is a great colour for hiding dirt, and looks very smart. Got better things to do than cleaning bits of tyre out of tighty whighty spaces in the interior.

but i must say my own black interior gets stoopid hot on track days, works great for loosing weight 🙂
