What is this?

No, I am not stripping it and there is no reason to take it out so it must just ma stay there, I am not going to screw up 5 other things to take something out that is not really having any negative effect on my enjine.

i know a guy in Welkom that can help
kekekeke

but seriously, after looking at the part in the pic, I think it is called a vagina - although I haven't gone that deep before

Yip those are the butterfly actuator - found on the JAP engine / 8 intake port head.

Like you maggots said, you can rip that shit out yo... 😂 But there is some work involved, you'll need to remove your plenum, and then you'll see the butterfly's, they take 2 screws you can remove to remove the butterflies.

Now these engine's run fine with them, my advice leave them in, if your car is stock, if you plan to do huge power mods take them out.

The jap engine gives more torque than the euro engine anyway 😉

And now "is jy kort van draat?"

DDracomoderator09 Mar 2007, 08:30

The pipy coming out of it goes to a copper pipe that gous in underneath the manifold.

At the moment it is not in the way, I don't have the guts to take it out anyway, if there was something to gain from it at the moment I would have suggested a braai at my place so "WE" could take it out, but as I gather there is no real gain at the moment so I will leave it.

Thanks for the info guys!

Ya Freddy, something is starting to make sence here, but still can my torque be that high.....I am still wondering.

DDracomoderator14 Mar 2007, 10:51

Thanks VC I will read through it, hope it is good news....?

DDracomoderator15 Mar 2007, 14:25

Thanks for the info VC, it may explain why my torque is so high....

EErnie15 Mar 2007, 15:40

I had the same issue when i put my import motor in my car.

ZERO torque, was funny as hell when we connected it though ,cos the car FLEW!

No need to remove it unless you plan big mods(as mentioned)

How have you guys connected this? Just with the Vacuum lines or with the ECU thing? This is quit interesting thou, I also noticed this was different than on my original engine, wonderd what it was but never asked.

DDracomoderator16 Mar 2007, 08:13

Mine seems to be connected through the ECU, it goes to the power transistor.
