Day 3... Walbro pump and intercooler fitted.

Engine mountings done, engine test fitted. Everything clears.

Was worried about the clutch master and intake touching, but it seems there are some clearance. Loosened the clutch master cyl when test fiting engine.

mabe, still looking round and keeping my options open.

any one know what the biggest (while still being safe) tyre size for a 17" 7.5j and 7j wheel is?

RRiekertadmin16 Jun 2010, 00:55

cool cool!

I'm running 235/40/17 on mine, think they are 7.5j

lljS1416 Jun 2010, 09:50

On the wheel issue , You really need to look into a narrow wide combo on the car now that you have a RB25 in the front 😉 ,I had 225 8J wheels on the rear with the 280kw on road tyres and i was all over the place traction wise . You will want to upgrade the turbo and supporting mods in the future so get the wheels right first time 😉 .

9/9.5j for a 255/265 minimum for decent traction on the rears .

A-Line have a decent range like RB25SX has on his car , If you cant find 17' 9/9.5j then look to widen a 7.5/8j rim to accomadate bigger rubber .

Or stick to the 225/17 if you enjoy going sideways down the main road 😈 😂

nnirvash16 Jun 2010, 14:19

hey, thanks for the info n help

i'm more about the traction on my car then the going sideways (only cause its a road/daily driver, dont get me wrong 😈 DRIFT 😈 )

any idea how much it costs to widen a set of wheels? also, what does this do to the wheels structural integrity and strength?

gona have a look at the A-Line wheels avaiable, thanks again 😉

still open to suggestions guys :!:

nnirvash16 Jun 2010, 14:21

oh ya, also about the narrow/wide setup, do you think this would be the best for s13/RB setup? cause of the extra weight n all in front etc...

It cost me about R2500 to get it done through Zaki at Whellworx who sends it up to Hi-Tech , But they seem to have increased there prices so you going to have to get a price first ,Look around there must be rims available .A-Line will have something 😉

Yes if you can go wide at the back 8)

nnirvash16 Jun 2010, 15:26

i'l get a price from him, been there before, with my golf

but if its around the price you said it seems easier just to find the right set of wheels

thanks

nneptune16 Jun 2010, 19:19
