Thanx guys, but the proof will be in the pudding.

Drove her to work today, stressfull to say the least. But she(we) made it.
I'm just not sure how I'm gonna run without boosting for a 1000k's ,I just want to jump on the gas and see what the turbo's can do but i dont wanno have to open the motor again.

BBigKriss10 Aug 2012, 12:18

Charl, Run her normally with boost. I would not go sticking 1.5 Bar into it yet but std boost, no probs.
If all your clearances are good there`s no need too pussy foot around.

Trust me , you are more worried than the engine is !

how much to build me a gearbox jack?

You will definitely not upset the rings. The additional pressure from turbo charging is almost negligible compared to the pressure the rings see under ignition / power stroke, n/a or turbo`ed.
Detonation spikes is a whole new ball game though..

I would boost the 0.6 bar but will take it easy for a few 100 kays ..Bedding in rings and pistons is a gradual process of starting easy and building up to balls to the wall performance.
Bedding in an engine is gradually making it work a little harder at a time..Low loads , medium rpm`s building up to high loads , high rpm..

We have built race engines and run them for 200 kays before race day ! When an engine is good, you will know..

Great thanks BK :200sx_200sx: :200sx_rockon:

So attempted to dyno the car yesterday but wasnt to succesfull.
But the 320nm on the wheels from a untuned map at 4bar, does bring a bit of a smile.

EEro_sennin16 Aug 2012, 15:55

Why what happend? And what is at 4 bar??

BBigKriss17 Aug 2012, 07:05

I would think 0.4 bar ?? Still nice figures bud ..! Wait until you screw up that boost . What management Charl ?

makes more sense, jis at 1 bar + thats going to make nice power.

CCharlvdw17 Aug 2012, 12:25

Ja thats what i meant to type , 0.4 bar  .
Im using Nistune. But there was other factors in play which ive sorted now, but before going back to the dyno i'm first gonna do a bit of road tuning.
