Cheers bud, using my cell as a modem here and it works ! Going to be expensive.

Damn, these Dbn. boys can organize a damn good run ! We all met up at Gary`s spot and then followed the manne to Innanda dam. Awesome, awesome roads there ! Really tested the little Nissan and showed up serious flaws in the handling dept.

One hell of a day though..thanks guys !
Met a stack of guys from Kzn this week, this morning it was Rat`s turn in Uvongo ! Tomorrow morning we getting together again to play cars !!
Went over to Poizns possie to check out his car as well !

An awesome run was organized by the Dbn. guys for us visiting this last week.
Some of the best roads were chucked at us and it was absolute fun..ask Driftzzzz... 😉

The Opel Turbo was behind me and I was rather chuffed that he was falling behind with every corner we took. I was the man !! Until he told me that my tires were chucking up boulders at him and that he had to take it easy !!
Damn, my self hero status took a beating right there ! 🙂

BBigKriss30 Apr 2011, 18:47

Met up with Rat in Uvongo yesterday and we had a bit of an impromptu piccy session.
Help the man out here guys, we need six RB25 coils for his car !!
Anyone ?

Just took a gazzilion pics of my car wherever I stopped..loved it ! I did 2456 Km this week with not as much as a hiccup from her !.

Mmmm, yea, for big hp it is..I want response from this engine and I will still make decent krag.
BTW, It is a Gt 3076 R...recieved it today when I got back.
The response at sea level is just plain insane on the RB !.We are definitely short changed here at altitude.
I drove Rat,s RB with the GT30 and the response was tremendous for a daily...

VVeNoMiZeR30 Apr 2011, 18:56

Wow nice BK, just wanted to know what was your avarage fuel consumption on the RB?

BBigKriss30 Apr 2011, 19:02

Cheers bud, thanks...I used 75 liters of unleaded 95 and covered 724 km.

This was cruising at 128 Km/h on the gps so as not to upset the traffice to much. I am very pleased with the consumption and the performance ..It equates to approximately 10l per 100Km.

This figure also included a few hard acceleration runs away from toll gates and rest stops up to 120 as well...nobody said I`ts illegal to get to 120 fast !!!

Coming home today it used a bit more as I loved the climb from Dbn. up to Maritzburg ! and the climb is not for sissy`s , so yea, she used a bit more..

The Innanda dam run was just plain abysmal and we will not count that in the bigger picture.. 😕

VVeNoMiZeR30 Apr 2011, 23:42

thats not to bad 8)
And hows reliability on the rb no heating issues?

BBigKriss03 May 2011, 20:51

The RB ran like clockwork..from simply taking it easy and cruising to wringing its neck down and back up a mountain again. All in it`s stride. Coming back up the mountain from Innanda it got a bit more hot than normal but we were driving like *******.

Other than that, not a peep out of her. 8)

So I`ve been rather gatvol of looking at this gauge directly in front of me where it was mounted on top of the steering column cover.
Could not see a third of the speedo nor a third of the rev counter.

I`ve been sitting in my car for hours trying to figure out a way of mounting additional gauges without ,
firstly,
destroying anything that is not destroyed yet,
secondly,
keeping it looking relatively oem ,
thirdly,
it must not be at the expense of any thing else-I want everything to still work and be there.

I looked at a dash top binnacle that I could make but it would always look like, well, like I made it as an after thought. Mmmm...I also did not want to cut the dash !

I am not a fan of the "a" post gauge mounts .

After another couple of hours sitting and looking this morning an idea struck me..

Move the heater control assy. down to where that useless little "can`t hold anything but crap" goody under the radio is and free up the slot where it was originally mounted.
After stripping it all I found the wiring would reach for the aircon/heater control box relocation .

and I found the constant source of the friggin oil smell inside the car. The fcukin oil gauge is leaking like a bastard !! Oil everywhere !
If you are going to fit an manual type gauge please remember to fit the tube inside the pipe under the ferrule !! Otherwise you simply colapse the ferrule and the pipe leaks !

After a few hours I now have a spot where I can now now build a custom gauge pod that will be extremely functional and very like the s15 had. Without messing up my dash !

Some one had already fcuked up most of the panels in the center console , cutting to fit radios, clips and brackets broken etc, etc.
I cut and shaped as best I could and fitted everything as best as it would all mount and bolt up..
Ill order new covers from the u.s.

Hopefully by next week Ill have a nice looking custom gauge setup in my car that is functional and also good looking.

where is your ashtray???

BBigKriss08 May 2011, 18:02

In a box at work. It was given to me as a loose part.

JJohnB08 May 2011, 19:28

Looks good Barry

Now move Boost and Oil pressure next to the AFR and stick the Gizmo where the other 2 gauges used to be
