I think who you race should be dependant on your mods. For example there would be no point in me racing Chemcool (no offence) because I have far more mods and it would a walkover. So if I for say wanted to challenge the top guy the rest of the guys on the ladder must agree to it.

What if a guy messes up the race by missing a gear or something (I do that V often) surely he should be alowed a re-race??

Well maybe we can look at some form of handicap system, either power/mass ratio based or dial-in time like supersport/sns series. I think those issues we'll get to. For now I think getting a ladder and some guys on it is more important until we have ideas on handicaps etc.

I also can't imagine someone [like u Gary] driving up to Jhb every week to only gain 1 position on the ladder, which is why I suggest 3-places at least.

I know nobody wanted this to be very complicated but we are going to have to find the balance between complicated/fairness/excitment. So basically we are aiming to be better than F1 😉

Thats it would want to come up make my mark and thats that, but I prob would never come up 😢 .

It should be if you beat the number 3 guy you get his spot and he falls to number 4, inturn number 4 falls to 5 and so forth. That way the guys that race often have a better chance of being at the top.

Well another twist could be king of the hill, where if you are no1, and you are challanged by no2, then you stay no1 if you win, but the looser goes down to the bottom of the ladder! That really encourages people to race against the noobs like me on the ass-end of the ladder.

GGary5707 May 2007, 15:24

Ja if you challenge and loose -5 places.

wwidowmaker07 May 2007, 15:51

ok ok i have an idea
lets just say i'm number 1 and thats that

vveecee08 May 2007, 08:39

trust the chess-player to be a smart-ass and come up with really clever comments.

damn smart people.

but it cant be too simple, if it is it wont work, because of the variables mentioned by qewrty.

i kinda like the challenge and loose = drop 5 places rule. stirs it up a bit.
and the assumption is that there will be somebody 5 places below you.

LOL - what if i am ciurrently in 4th place. i challenge chemcool (i've heard he is an easy target, hey gary? 8) ) and i loose (because i suck at changing gears 😉 ). does that mean that i go to 9th place. even when there is nobody at 5th, 6th, 7th or 8th places!!!

VC, with all honesty. I agree. It will not work. Please you make it then to work for us, will you? 🙄 🙄

GGary5708 May 2007, 08:54

I think firstly you need to make a list of all the guys that will actually race and arrange them alphabetically then at least you have a basic ladder. Sorry widow but will be at the bottom 😂 .

sorry i'm too busy!

a good way to get it to work is to just do it, and then thrash out the problems later. that way you will make some progress at least, instead of theorising (yes - a new word) it to death!

CChemCooladmin08 May 2007, 09:05

sorry i'm too busy!

To busy posting on the forums? 😮
Then we keep on going as is. It will be sorted. 😉

Rules for drag racing ladder (my ideas anyway).

1. You may challenge anyone on the list as long as it is not one of the top three.
2. In order to be number 1 you will have to first be number 4, then you can go on and challenge number 3 then 2 then 1 (in that order).
3. If a person is unable to race 3 consecutive times he will forfit his possition on the ladder.
4. If you challenge someone and you loose, you will drop 3 positions on the ladder. Except if you are in the top 3, you will just remain in your current possition.
5. If you are challenging from a far (like me) you get your place on the list above the person you beat but with a * next to your name. Just saying that he beat this person but is unable to race anyone else due to your location.

vveecee08 May 2007, 09:26

there, you see freddy.

its not that i'm lazy, i just knew that while i was typing my pointless reply, somebody with constructive comments like that was also typing.

easy hey!

yes i do.

maybe you should come up here to jozi, and practice what your mouth, your keyboard, your accelerator foot and your tig welding hand preach!!!

PPhinx08 May 2007, 10:35

I don't agree. You just stay in your current place should you fail.
We can also split the list based on location or update your standing based on 1/4 time slip .

I don't think there should be handicaps so Riaan rules the list but we can split it based on boost and Engine CC maybe .

Just my Zim cent

PPhinx08 May 2007, 10:37

1. You may challenge anyone on the list as long as it is not one of the top three.

Also you can only challenge the number above you .
so you cant go from 10th to 4th in one hop.

It makes it fun and you get to meet the club, and should someone not want to race you he can give you his place in the list.

GGary5708 May 2007, 10:46

Bit of an expensive exercise dont you think??? Beside JHB sucks balls, there is nothing up there for me anyway.

I don't agree. You just stay in your current place should you fail.

This would prevent the guys at the bottom of the list challenging the guys at the top and leaving the guys in the middle out. It should be if you challenge a guy who is higher up than 3 positions above you and you loose then you drop 3 positions.

Also you can only challenge the number above you .
so you cant go from 10th to 4th in one hop.

So then Riaan better get here fast so he doesnt have to race 10 guys to get to where he should be from the begining. 😕

PPhinx08 May 2007, 10:58

True Riaan will own the list ...

You have to pay to play boost isn't cheap, Riaan paid through his ass for his cars performance ,so he deserves to be high on the list.

Remember its all about fun and friendship , the best way to set this up is like the ladder in NFSU.

let the drift guys start the longest drift list

me and you might not have gotten on so well after that comment, were it not for me growing up at the coast and being a surfer for at least 10 years.

so yes, if i could still do the sx thing in durbs, and get some waveriding done inbetween, it would be awesome!

but how can you say there is nothing up here for you? you must be young then???

GGary5708 May 2007, 11:36
