Looking for injectors and AFM

PPhinx31 May 2007, 13:36

damn thats crazy really...

Nissan might even be cheaper

GGary5731 May 2007, 13:39

Nissan might even be cheaper

Nissan be cheaper??? NEVER. They will probably want like R9800 + VAT or something stupid.

I have a STD one if anyone wants.

SStephen Swanepoel31 May 2007, 16:02

They are not cheeper
R4800-00
but R2700-00 was too much for me too!
Rather put that cash towards my Adaptonic.

Cool

I havent started looking much yet...

Planning on 270 Whp , My injector duty is getting close to the 80 % threshold

and here is the beauty of also knowing about things not made by nissan!!!

1. how many rotary guys are out there? plenty
2. how many of them are running over 1000cc's? plenty
3. what are the stock 13bt injectors? 550cc
4. what is the installation orientation of the abovementioned injectors? top feed/o-ring seal.
5. will they fit into my manifold/fuel rail assembly? LLLLLLLIIIIIKKKKKEEEEEEE AAAAA GGGGLLLLOOOOOOVVVVVVEEEEEE!!!!!!!!!

solution - go speak to the rotary dudes!

Keep it basic, run a fifth injector.

SSokar01 Jun 2007, 10:43

Not to get back to the whole aruing thing again, just wanna get an a idea of where you're coming from...

Please explain how running a 5th injector is more basic than unplugging 4 stock injectors and plugging 4 bigger ones in??? Even if the rail needs to modified slightly?

PPhinx01 Jun 2007, 10:46

Lol on the ball Veecee 😮

But to slow,(joking) 8) . I have already put the word out to the rotor guys but I'm awaiting feed back ...

The AFM going to be the mission , I have that feeling 😈

GGary5701 Jun 2007, 10:48

Running 4 new injectors means, getting injectors, getting them serviced pulling out the injector rail, fitting. Ah what a mission, I got a 460cc RC injector and fitted it to my water injection housing.

Oh ja but you guys done have this housing.... Oh shit just ignore what I said, not thinking again, My bad. 🙄

SSokar01 Jun 2007, 10:55

Funny question, how often do injectors fail?

GGary5701 Jun 2007, 10:59

Funny question, how often do injectors fail?

Not Often :?: :!:

SSokar01 Jun 2007, 11:01

Can you spot the problem if your fifth or even one of the primaries fail when using a fifth injector setup?

And another thing, where's this injector gonna get fuel from? You gonna just Add a T to the line going to the current fuel rail?

the injectors - get rudi/stephan's number from sokar. and phone to ask them. otherwise call arthur. he'll have plenty lying around!

the AFM - there are a few out there that will work. i reckon your best bet is NZ or OZ, or the UK(although its huge bucks). all the larger nissan engines from sedans to 4x4's!!! the largest is the one from the 4.5 v8 IIRC!!!

call the engine importers - that's where we got a stock AFM from a mazda 13bt.

SSokar01 Jun 2007, 11:11

:200sx_offtopic: but VC, have you seen that your profile now says "Over Boosting" 😛

vveecee01 Jun 2007, 11:14

:200sx_offtopic: but sokar, yes i have. have you been sleeping???

its been like that for weeks now!!! there are a few others too, like Gary!

but to check an injector, you can unplug it, or listen to it. to properly check it, go and have it flow tested and cleaned.

If there are any fueling problems I will pick up through the EGT gauge.

Yip from after the fuel filter and before the fuel rail.

I know this is not the best set up but the Wolf can control a 5th injector very well and it is still the best bang for buck.

PPhinx01 Jun 2007, 11:34

Ok will do some research, I have asked Sokar to ask the Rotor guys if possible

I will see what other AFM can fit...

Again, Gary I'm not knocking your setup, it works and you're happy with it, but effectively you've just told phinx that to run a fifth injector he needs to get an EGT guage and a Wolf 3d system....

4 Bigger injectors are looking mighty fine at this point...

To me adding a fifth injector is like putting a bandaid on a cannon wound, if you wanna get more fueling, do it, do it properly, with a fifth injector you've just added 3 extra failure points into a working system, it doesnt make logical or financial sense...

vveecee01 Jun 2007, 11:50

i struggle to see how phinx will fuel his engine properly without using some sort of fuel management add-on to his normal ECU.

even with bigger injectors instead of a fifth one, he will need to control them somehow.

You are 100% correct, he has ordered something but is keeping very quiet about it...

vveecee01 Jun 2007, 11:58

i want to know about it! tell him to tell me!
