Sjoe, just had a look at your site now, wow looks so good hey! Good quality parts to damn! Excuse my ignorance (AGAIN! 🙄 ) but you say it has VVT, does that mean its an import motor? Did the S.A. cars have VVT?

Thanks 8)

Yup the S14 has vvt in SA

Good power you making-and very usable rev range also.
What clutch do you got?Mine is brand new but it's slipping at 1bar.

Good power you making-and very usable rev range also.

Thats the common denominator in all the cars I do.
The clutch is a ACT 6 puck racing clutch. Rated for 600hp
It will chirp the tyres into 3rd with a flatshift

damn awesome i say!!!

plenty of useable power would be the perfect reason for me to adapt my doriftostyle!!!!

Can i ask a stupid question? Very nice figures btw, ofcourse im well jeleous!

What gear do you use whilst doing a power run on the dyno?

DDanielmoderator08 Jun 2007, 08:53

Can i ask why?

I always thought it was 4th, something to do with being closest to a 1:1 ratio with the diff

4th is normally 1:1 ratio in the gearbox.

in most cars 4th is allready an overdrive ratio. its been a long time since all cars had a 1:1 4th.

I use 3rd for reasons of wheel speed most powerfull cars will do around 200km/h or more in 4th.
Have you ever had a tyre seperate at 210km/h on the dyno?
Well I have and its not a fun experience so I try and keep the speeds sane.

DDanielmoderator08 Jun 2007, 15:37

Oh oh i understand now.

Thankyou very much 😉

jjohansx08 Jun 2007, 16:15

Will have to do mine in 2nd gear then... 220 redline in 3rd 😂 🙄 😉

DDislex66610 Jun 2007, 12:32

I take it yours is an auto then?

jjohansx11 Jun 2007, 10:28

Automagic to you sir ! 😉

ZOMG...

So i finally mustered up the courage to klap the 'knoppie' this morning - nice clear road. Car had been driving for like 30 minutes, so it was warm enough.

It went thru 2nd gear so fast that I forgot to change gears (you kinda get into a sub conscience habit of timing the gear shifts)

By the end of 3rd I was shocked to say the least. It's INCREDIBLY smooth, the boost ramps up very nice

(calibrator does boost by rpm - so it doesn't hit 22 psi too early, which could cause traction issues)

Very nice drive!

Well done Mr calibrator 😀 😀 😀 😀 😀 😀 😀 😀 8)

GGary5713 Jun 2007, 08:25

Well done glad you happy with it.

calibrator does boost by rpm

Wish I could set up my boost controller properly 😢 .

dude, thats excellent news. it means your gearbox is in and all is running well!!!
awesome, so is the drag ladder challenge back on???

and lastly - either you giving us too much info about your bathroom habits, or you calling calibrator a knoppie??? 😂 😂 😂

DDislex66613 Jun 2007, 08:41

Heh - knoppie = highboost knoppie (in case anyway was wondering 😛)

As for dragging... I'm a bit scared. Think i'm gonna give it a skip for now. I was very lucky with getting the gbox sorted so fast (and pretty cheap too) I won't be so lucky next time.

vveecee13 Jun 2007, 08:45

yeah that was hectic, i saw the gearbox shaft at knoppie's place!!!

twisted right off - you weren't using trackbite by any chance. i've heard that its good stuff, but when your traction cant break, then usually something else has too!!!

well its good that its all running sweet again!
