doesnt the s14 have a t28?

VVladeadmin02 Jul 2007, 08:28

aaah jaaa T28 it might be safe to run 1 bar... 😀

ddwayne02 Jul 2007, 08:59

so now the big q. will it ping

VVladeadmin02 Jul 2007, 10:50

Look that I can't tell you that it won't, the fine ear can hear it, your computer will try and switch to a "safe" map when it detects it... So I'd say you are semi-safe, but when doing mods you need the accompanying mod like a bigger intercooler...

😀

You might even find that you can't even reach 1bar with the turbo, so ja there are many variables....

vveecee02 Jul 2007, 10:53

just do it...

ok so i was at nitro race way on saturday and the guy with the white S14 with the skyline turbo motor in told me i can go up 2 1bar boost with 95 octane. can some one please advise me coz 1 would love 2 but dont want to hurt the turbo or motor

Yet another piece of fucked up advice.

1: At this altitude your T28 will battle to maintain 1.2bar boost. A GT2876 will only just maintain 1.5bar to 7300rpm it will make 1.8bar at 5000rpm but then falls off.
2: 2 bar boost on 95 octane is a good for turning your motor into a handrenade.
3: Much more than 1 bar on the stock internals and head bolts will self destruct
4: None of the knowlegeable guys even run straight 102 at 1.5 bar those that have have broken engines after a while

I got the s14 motor in my s13 200sx. Boost it 0.7 bar... for a month or so. Turbo still ok but internals start making lots of noise. Now I need new engine. So on stock internals I'll advice you to stick to 0.4bar boost, or you'll have to get better pistons, conrods and bearings for the engine.

interesting...

i thought the stock boost on the s14 was around 0.5-0.6 bar. perhaps your engine is making strange noises because of some other problems??? i've heard of sr20det's making good reliable horsepower with stock internals.

SS13- S14 Conversion09 Jul 2007, 14:22

No, I'm sure it's because of too much boosting. Already got some advice on it. First thing you must do when raising the boost is to replace the pistons. They are too soft to handle the pressure.]

TThe Calibrator09 Jul 2007, 14:23

Stock boost around 0.7bar if all is in order.

aaep88611 Aug 2007, 21:32

chip is useless for 200sx get a boost control and a computer to set up new fuel supply .... japs tuned 200sx with out touching the engine or the turbo for 400hps....

PPhinx11 Aug 2007, 22:02

I'm sure they touch the turbo to get 400Hp...

You will push the Turbo right out of the efficacy range to push those numbers.
You might get away with stock internals and head and valves but then you tunning must be great and your balls big

Agree, I've read on SXOC the guys reaching 300hp, but then they have to do all kinds of funnies to reach it.
