Next mod

So what should be my next logical mod under R3k.

So far the car has the following engien mods:

76m zorst from the elbow at the turbo.
very large cone filter
electric fans

I'm leaning towards an upgraded FMIC. Any other ideas?

EEro_sennin07 Dec 2007, 12:47

I think the FMIC is a good idea.

let me install those poly bushes for you!

and maybe a steering spacer!

and for the 3 grand, get yourself a set of drift mags!

EEro_sennin07 Dec 2007, 13:26

That doesn't seem like a bad Idea either 😀

I think a FMIC would be good or a Unichip.

Yip that sound nice! FMIC will work nicely and look very cool! 😂 😂 😂

It's all about looking cool 😀

ps: Any of you see that RB26DET powered S13 at wesbank on Wednesday? Now THAT is cool.

SSpeed breeder07 Dec 2007, 15:02

FMIC should only be about R2000, so you have R1000 left.

Oil cooler? Could get one below R1000

Greddy radiator cap from import parts.

DDoctor G07 Dec 2007, 15:58

Cooler + piping for R2k? Details please.... Sounds good.

ps: Speaking of coolers, I was thinking about pulling the radiator back and putting the FMIC in front of it, but still in the engine bay. That would mean very short and straight pipes to the FMIC, which would reduce costs and help with any lag at the same time.

Only downside is it doesn't look as hawt.

nn1smo200sx07 Dec 2007, 16:11

Where can you get a oil cooler for 1K?????Maybe just the cooler without the pipes and filter sandwich?

SSpeed breeder07 Dec 2007, 16:12

Apologies, you're right, pipes and silicone will most prob be the other R1k.

I have also done this mod where FMIC in front of radiator in engine bay, radiator moved back...

FMIC not as visible as you would think. Best would be to position in the bumper...

Electronic Boost controller ....

R 3000 best money spent

on a stock motor?

Maybe I should source a further R3k or so and look for a SR20.

BTW. Want to chagne to a X-force back box, but the prices has gone from R800 to R1100 now. WTF?

PPhinx10 Dec 2007, 09:16

SR20 ?

If you want to waste you money feel free...
Unless a a black top (maybe) or a full tilt race rebuild with High boost, I would stay with the Ca18det...

I have run with a couple of S-14 and SR20DET powered sentra's and the CA can hold it own.

You can also mybe look at a Better turbo like a S-14 unit or a GTI-R unit or even master power T3 for around R 3000...

DDoctor G10 Dec 2007, 11:24

My CA has nearly 300k kms on it.

So it's bound to need a rebuild soon, or I'm guessing soemthing will break the minute I try to produce more power out of it...

I know they aint bad motors in terms of power etc.

I ran a 15.1 at dragwars on a very hot day in a very strong headwind on street fuel and tyres, stock boost. Just with filter and exhaust. No dyno tuning or anything. So they are certainly capable.

Damn that is a good time, thought the stock sx ran 16s.

DDoctor G10 Dec 2007, 14:33

Yeah was running that time consistently that day and was hoping to break a 14.9. If it wasn't for the hectic heat and head wind then it probably would have.

Any of you see those local LSD's in the last SNS mag?

If it's not too pricey then that is also an option. And I completely forgot that I still need to do a walbro pump on this baby.
