Terms of use
These terms are the agreement between you and the S-Chassis Owners Club of South Africa (“the club”, “we”, “us”) about using sxoc.co.za, including the forum, car registry, dyno figures, guides, parts catalogue, downloads and messaging (together, “the site”). By creating an account or using the site you agree to them. If you don't agree, please don't use the site. The short version: be decent, be honest, and use what you read here at your own risk.
1. Who we are
The club is a volunteer-run community of Nissan S13, S14 and S15 (200SX, 180SX, Silvia, Onevia) owners and enthusiasts. We are not a business, a dealer, a workshop or a seller. Contact us at admin@sxoc.co.za.
2. Your account
- You must be 18 or older, or have a parent or guardian's permission.
- Give a real email address and keep your details accurate. One account per person.
- Keep your password safe. You are responsible for what happens on your account. Tell us at once if you think someone else has used it.
- You may delete your account at any time in Settings. How we handle your information is in the privacy policy.
3. Community rules
- Be respectful. Disagree about parts, not people. No harassment, bullying, hate speech, threats or discrimination.
- No spam, scams, advertising unrelated to the club, or fake accounts.
- Don't post other people's private information (addresses, phone numbers, ID numbers, private messages) without their permission.
- Don't post anything illegal. That includes listing stolen cars or parts, or content that helps defeat vehicle licensing, roadworthy, emissions or anti-theft rules.
- Don't post content you have no right to share, such as articles copied from other sites or photos taken by someone else.
- Keep it accurate. Registry entries and dyno figures should be your own car and your own measured results, not invented or inflated ones.
- Don't attack or overload the site, try to access what you shouldn't, or collect members' information in bulk.
Moderators may edit, move, hide or remove content, and may warn, suspend or close accounts that break these rules, with or without notice where the breach is serious. Decisions are made in good faith by volunteers. If you think we got it wrong, email admin@sxoc.co.za.
4. Your content
You keep ownership of what you post. By posting, you give the club a free, non-exclusive licence to host, display, copy, resize and distribute it on the site and in backups, for as long as it is on the site. Content moved here from the club's previous forum is covered in the same way. You promise that you own what you post or have permission to share it, and that it doesn't break these terms or anyone's rights. You can edit or delete your own posts; deleting your account is explained in the privacy policy. Posts you leave behind stay on the site, no longer linked to you, so that discussions still make sense.
5. Downloads, manuals and club material
The site offers factory service manuals, wiring diagrams and similar documents. These were created by Nissan and other third parties; the club does not own them and does not claim any rights in them. They are shared for personal, non-commercial reference by owners and enthusiasts. You may not sell them, republish them elsewhere for profit or claim them as your own. Manuals can be out of date or contain errors and may not match your exact car.
The club's own text, layout, logo and design are the club's. Don't copy them for commercial use without asking.
Copyright and takedown. If you own something on this site, or believe it infringes your rights, email admin@sxoc.co.za with the page address, what is yours and how to contact you. We will look at it promptly and remove material where appropriate.
5a. Shared 3D models
Members can share STL files for printable parts. By sharing one you promise that it is your own design, or that its licence allows you to share it, and that it doesn't copy a manufacturer's protected design or break anyone's rights. Files are shared for personal, non-commercial use unless the member who shared it says otherwise in the description. We record which signed-in members download a model (see the privacy policy). A model can be removed by its owner or by an administrator at any time, and the club may remove a model we believe infringes someone's rights.
Printed parts can fail. Plastic parts made on a home 3D printer vary with the material, settings and printer, and can break, melt or wear out, particularly near heat, in the engine bay or where they carry load or affect safety (brakes, steering, seatbelts, airbags, fuel). Don't print or fit safety-critical parts, and check any printed part before and after you fit it. You print and use models at your own risk.
6. Guides, parts and technical information
Working on cars is dangerous, and modifications can affect safety, insurance, roadworthiness and the law. Guides, forum advice, part numbers, fitment notes, dyno figures and engine-swap ratings are shared by enthusiasts in good faith. They are not professional advice, can be wrong or incomplete, and may not suit your car. Part numbers and compatibility must be checked with a supplier before you buy. Dyno figures depend on the dyno, conditions and the car, and cannot be compared like for like. Use your own judgement, work safely, use qualified people where you need them, and follow the law and your insurer's requirements. You follow any guide, or use any information, at your own risk.
7. Dealings between members
The club is not a party to any sale, swap, job or arrangement between members and does not check anyone's listings or claims. Check the car, the seller and the paperwork yourself, avoid paying for something you haven't seen without good reason, and meet safely. We cannot guarantee anything offered or said by a member.
8. Links and third parties
The site links to and embeds material from other websites (for example Useful links and video clips). We don't control them, don't endorse them and aren't responsible for them or for what happens when you use them.
9. Availability
The site is run by volunteers and provided “as is”. We try to keep it available and your information safe, but we don't promise it will always work, be error-free or keep your content forever. Keep your own copy of anything important. We may change, pause or remove features at any time.
10. Limits on our liability
To the fullest extent the law allows, the club, its administrators, moderators and volunteers are not liable for any loss or damage (including injury, vehicle damage, lost data, lost money or lost opportunity) arising from your use of the site, from content posted by members or third parties, from advice or information you rely on, or from dealings with other members. Nothing in these terms limits any rights you have under the Consumer Protection Act or other laws that cannot be excluded, or our liability for gross negligence or intentional wrongdoing where the law does not allow us to exclude it.
If you cause loss to the club or its members by breaking these terms, you are responsible for it.
11. Ending your access
You can stop using the site whenever you like. We may suspend or close an account that breaks these terms or puts the community or the site at risk. Sections that by their nature should continue (such as 4, 5, 6, 10 and 12) continue after your account ends.
12. General
- These terms are governed by the laws of the Republic of South Africa, and the South African courts have jurisdiction over any dispute, subject to any rights you have that cannot be limited by agreement.
- If part of these terms is found unenforceable, the rest still applies.
- If we don't enforce a term straight away, we haven't given it up.
- These terms and the privacy policy are the whole agreement about your use of the site.
- We may update these terms. If we change them in a way that matters, we will say so on the site and update the date above. Using the site after a change means you accept it.
