Can they be used on a CA18det
and i beleive they a T28 ball bearing turbos

I believe the flange is smaller and doesnt fit, also not an upgrade to the standard T25

*dons bullet proof vest, flame suit, space suit and every other suit that i may need

if its a t28, the flange is the same as the t25.

its only when you move onto the t3 size turbos that the mounting flange changes!

also - the ceramic blades are much lighter and spool up quicker than normal blades. just dont spin them over a bar cos they will disintegrate!!!

😀

As far as I know the twin turbo RB26 has 2 T3.5 turbos....I could be rong....saw one in a workshop once and that was the size that was given to me....

no theyr T28's with a tiny AR and im still fairly certain a diffrent flange.

anyway wheres the guys who know what theyr talking about to come and correct us/me

As far as I knor its 48 AR ,only the intake part is different and fits with a small flange.it'a HUGE improvemnt on the standard T25 as it spools up nearly twice as fast and keeps the boost longer. Also over 1 bar is a big no-.9 is safe.

i found this on wikipedia. it doesnt give the different AR sizes though.

Although all versions of the RB26DETT N1 engine use Garrett T25 turbochargers, the specification of the turbochargers changed through the 3 generations of the RB26DETT N1 engine (R32, R33, and R34). The R32, and R33 versions used Journal Bearing T25 Turbochargers. The R34 RB26DETT N1 engine used Garrett GT25 turbo chargers (which use a Ball Bearing, and has much faster response than a Journal Bearing due to reduced friction).

The biggest difference between the turbochargers used in the N1 engine, and the standard RB26DETT engine, is that the Turbine Wheels in the turbocharger are made from Steel, rather than the Ceramic used for the Standard RB26DETT turbochargers. The Ceramic turbine wheels are found to be very unreliable when used at higher temperatures (such as when the turbochargers are used at a higher boost pressure than stock).

i would be nervous about this - wuite a few of you have said that their car suddenly overboosted at some occasion (like when something pops off unexpectedly) - just one time and BANG

a lot of work for a bit more turbo for a while...

There was someone that was selling a bb turbo on the forum a while back, but wanted too much for it...

What I would do is just use the core in my T28... wham... BB T28 😀
