does anyone know why a intake cam's teeth wil brake of some of the teeth? chain tensioner? on a sr20det? :?:
help?
howd that happen
you must be talking about hte cams gear teeth - and to me that sounds almost impossible???
thats like 2mm of steel, and a fancy complicated geometric design that should be very strong!!!
so i would've assumed that the chain would break first!!! 😮 😮 😮
it's a friend of mine's s14.took it to get it dyno'd @ snail conversions.the guy there said the chain is to tight and put in another chain tensioner, also took out the cas.when they started it again it made one moer of a noise and he said it's faulty lifters. my friend phoned me and a removed the tappet cover to find the teeth broken.about 10-12 of them around the sprocket.
holy crap!!!!
10-12 teeth?
chain tensioner too tight?
faulty lifters???
DUDE!!!???!!! 😮 😮 😮
i haven't got a fkn clue.maybe chain did'nt have enough tension? chain stretched?
replaced the vvt pulley with the std sr20det's.took out the lifers on the intake side, checked them and put them back with the std chain tensioner and whala,100% 😂
nice - and now its also ready for some big HP!!!
