What do i ask for and from who might i get one for more or less how much?

When I did my clutch a while back I went to Bearing man and bought a bearing and then pressed the old one out of the housing and pressed the new one in......still going well. The bearing a SKF one cost about R70.
Cheers

Antman, nice info, thanks I need thrust bearing for SR20 RWD, think they could help?

aantman16 Aug 2009, 20:56

Hey Powder, not familiar with the SR20 release bearing, if it similar to the ca one then it is possible........I am sure veecee will know...he is an ex sr20 owner/builder.

i'm sure it will be hte same.

anyone got measurements of the OD of the housing?

CCharlvdw17 Aug 2009, 12:43

40mm??? Will have to double check ,did the exercise Saturday.

SSpeed breeder17 Aug 2009, 14:59

i will also check the OD of my thrust bearing (CA though)...

have original and generic one

SSpeed breeder20 Aug 2009, 07:42

OD CA thrust bearing = 75mm
ID CA thrust bearing = 45mm

Per my measurements...it was cold, so the bearing, my eye balls or the vernier could have been smaller than usual...

vveecee20 Aug 2009, 08:14

it was cold, so your balls were smaller than usual?

sucks when that happens! 😂 😂 😂

SSpeed breeder20 Aug 2009, 08:38

sheesh VC... no brass only shrinks at extreme temps

😀 😀 😀

ppoizenmoderator20 Aug 2009, 08:46

what the thickness of the bearing and is it a zz or rr or open cage bearing

PPOWDER09 Sept 2009, 21:52

I have confirmation, YES the CA bearing does fit in the SR box, tested it while doing the swop, dang SR box didn't come with one so had to use the CA's one. Luckily it fit... ha ha ha, there is another thingy I had to use from the CA box as well though.
