As everyone knows I bought Hennie's spare CA18DET. 8)
I just though I would post some pic's the motor is in perfect working order and its very sad to strip something that works but it feels good to finally have spares for my damn CA18DET.

I will be helping club members out with spares they might urgently need (like heater hosing, brackets. ect) , but I will be keeping the most important parts. Sorry .

Hennie knows his stuff and It good to have another Guru...

Motor....

Parts I can finally sleep at night

SSokar12 Feb 2007, 23:32

Just joking!

But, um, in the first pic, is the motor Lying on a Cam sprocket???

VVladeadmin13 Feb 2007, 06:45

HHennie Marais13 Feb 2007, 08:47

LOL, did you bake/microwave the parts clean, Looks like a oven in the one pic of yours, I hope it's in the garage and not in your kitchen. hehehe.

Damn You... Hennie 😂

I had to scrub the cr@p out of those parts, still more stripping on the way.

Sorry I'm keeping the really important stuff but if one of the members really needs something. I will borrow them the correct part till they can source a replacement

you dont need the injectors do you? haven't you got bigger ones installed?
name yer price

vveecee13 Feb 2007, 11:27

phinx

its awesome for you and for some others that you have these spares!!!

would it be possible to score that cast iron engine mount bracket from you.

when i stripped my motor to clean it, i forgot that i had left mine in corrosive steel cleaner for two weeks, and it came out looking like it had been in the ocean for 20 years.

i could use a decent one.

if its available, lemme know the price!

thanks
VC

Yo Veecee

What bracket? the Y shaped one?

bbruno_miranda2613 Feb 2007, 13:30

Hey Phinx,

I take it that the valves are not included on the list of inportant stuff 😂 😂 soooo how about help a brother out 😂 😂

I need valves for drifting i think i bent one or two on my engine :x

HHennie Marais13 Feb 2007, 13:38

I might be able to get semi complete engine for R500, think all that was taken of the engine was the turbo and injectors and CAS. I'll phone him and hear if he's still got it.

PPhinx13 Feb 2007, 15:33

we need to chat Hennies you can never have to many spare motors

HHennie Marais13 Feb 2007, 15:42

ok

But first let me find out if he still has it. I wanted to buy it when I was planning to stick with the CA

vveecee13 Feb 2007, 16:07

hennie

you have to get me that one. phinx already has one.

now i need one!!!

phinx - there are two. one is pressed steel, the other side's one is cast iron.

i need the cast iron one.

i will check tonight which side it is on. but its the brackets that hold the engine onto the engine mounts on the subframe!!!

thanks
VC

VVladeadmin14 Feb 2007, 06:59

veecee I might be able to help you out

vveecee14 Feb 2007, 07:06

thanks vlade, phinx.

if either of you have it i will take it.

i'm worried about mine cracking - it was really bad once i remembered to take it out of the steel cleaner. and the cleaner fluid had gone from being like water to something more like jelly. it was steel jelly!!!

i wil look for a picture - i have one somewhere!!!
