Good luck making 400hp(294KW) with 550cc inj's on a CA18 😮
400hp = ~294kw and there's no reason a 550cc cant deliver 100hp.

at 100% duty cycle, on 550cc , 4 cyl, BSFC of 0.6 the max is 350hp(257kw)

But if the guy says 400hp with 550cc injs, maybe he runs 5 bar feul presure.......... who am i to question it 😀 Good luck with the sale.
That engine never made 300hp let alone 400hp so the point is moot.
Neither does it have forged pistons nor ACL bearings.
For what it is though its a good price.

So is its George's(Gremlin) motor?
It is georges motor....so Daniel...if it does not have forgies and so on...I can understand why it broke with the T61.
As far as I know it was a std CA... could be wrong

So the 400HP and forge engin was all a scam?
I can't comment about that, he may have been misled by a unscrupulous engine builder.
I saw him driving around the other day, the engine was smoking but it looked like it was over fueling rather than blown rings.
regardless, a "working" engine and gearbox for 5k...well worth considering

i have see a S15 with stock SR20det making 398hp... with bolt-ons and engine untouched....550cc is possible to make 400hp...coz stock S15 injector are 480cc

398hp(292kw) on 4 x 480cc inj's. 😮 That is .207 hp per cc.
That means i can get 337kw(460hp) on std 6 X 370cc inj's in a RB25DET 🙄 Dont think so. 😂
Hi guys totally new to this forum,i recently bought the so called 400 hp motor in question..It was a good buy at the price but isnt what it was said to be..
No forged pistons just badly worn stock ones,no acl bearings,no balanced crank as u can see on the bearings its not runnin true,ring collapsed and damaged the bore badly..
Im busy rebuilding the motor,and had 2 replace all the internals,sadly..But building it with decent parts bar the pistons(Autopower)..
Anybody who knew the true story behind the motor i would really like some insight into it,Thanks 🙂
