GGrobblere11 Apr 2013, 17:15

Good day all

Can i please aks if we can start the following thread, based on the CA18det (To promote the community and also to have a nice basis for the dyno graphs)

I have taken my CA18det in for a dyno and hopefully will have it by tomorrow morning. Please post your details with mods

Example
CA18DET
Stock cams
Garrett turbo T25G
Dictator management
Walbro pump
Stock Injectors
FMIC
3" dump and exhaust

151 rwkw or 203rwhp @ 10psi. - 95RON.

Dyno sheet soon.

CA18DET(all standard parts in motor)
650cc injectors
76mm exhaust(3 boxes)
STD ECU with separate fuel management
FMIC
t3/t4 turbo
both are with 95 but hi boost has a little help with water/meth

Wolf 3D, the figures could have been better, these guys did not have a clue wats going on in the wolf(most tuners don't) so I basicly tuned myself with their input and my tuning ability is very limited.

Awesome stuff Gary! And thanks for the posts guys, its really fun to see the CA18 figures shine!

I cant post my figures as yet,...Found the 3 pumps has a restriction somewhere and they do not supply the volume of fuel they are supposed to which causes the car to lose power, the Wastegate's spring is also not hard enough causing the car to lose boost and my "Drift" cone filter is causing me to lose 10whp.....Yet the Drift cone filter with the black front cover we tested is more effective.

We ended on 286whp @ 7200rpms at 0.85 bar boost,.. There is allot of untapped Hp to gain. Going to do a couple of changes and dyno it to around 8200rpms with around 1.8 bar pressure.... Should be interesting! :domo:

PS im getting intake temps as low as 4 deg celcius in dyno room (given it was cold and raining yesterday), my intake temps seem to be below 24 deg..... 😀

CA18DET (Forged bottom end)
Stock head (Reconned)
Arp head studs
Cometic head gasket 1.3mm
Cosmetic exh gaskets
800cc injectors
Modified fuel rail
Custom high mount manifold.
38mm Tial wastegate
60mm TB
76mm exhaust (1 box)
Dictator X2 management
FMIC
Custom Garrett t3/t4 turbo with Ar70 comp housing and .63 exh housing
Custom twin plate clutch and flywheel

thanks dude but im a bit disappointed was hoping for more, but it is what it is im just going to have to mod more now 😁

You are over 95% duty cycle on those 440cc's to get 170kW @ wheels. Fit bigger injectors before you blow it up and have to start from scratch.

But we spoke about this the other day, so you know....

SSonOfAnarchy ZAadmin12 Jul 2013, 10:57

spoke to ross (the tuner) About it he says its 100% like it is he Said the car is not struggling for petrol at all he recons i can go to 1.4bar on the 440cc and still be safe

EEnzio12 Jul 2013, 11:07

It's your choice.

Then people wonder why they melt pistons or blow motors?

OK so then??? why not share your knowledge rather than just comment?

mmario_200sx13 Aug 2013, 12:29

Enzio has already stated to you that at that power you are running at to high duty cylce.....

So it might be running fine now, but at anything more than 80% duty cycle on a injector you will overheat your injector and it will decide to stop working. No fuel - no piston......

DDracomoderator13 Aug 2013, 12:39

Jason, let me say this, if the tuner says it's possible it might be, he should know best, he tuned the car.

The amount of boost is not connected to the amount of fuel(injector size) needed for that boost, remember 1.4 bar boost on one T3/T4 might be a whole different thing on another T3/T4 turbo because of the volume of air involved, the amount of fuel(injector size) is connected to the amount of air flow(volume) needed to make a certain amount of power.

Your turbo might for argument sake flow only a small amount of air(volume) that makes the use of only 440cc's very possible, this leads me to assume that your turbo is "small" and that's why it is possible..

SSonOfAnarchy ZAadmin13 Aug 2013, 15:14

oh ok i will ask him to work out the duty cycle.
