you didn't drive through a puddle?

GGary5711 Oct 2007, 08:26

I would check the afm or the throttle position sensor.

DDanielmoderator11 Oct 2007, 09:05

Terrible leak between local made downpipe and turbo exhaust housing.

Oh you got that already?? where are the pics? I wanne c

CChemCooladmin11 Oct 2007, 11:36

The down pipe was manufactured by Cheetah, and also fitted. So I could not take piccies. Will take them now when we swop engine.

GGary5711 Oct 2007, 11:50

Is it a 63mm or a 76mm down pipe?? Also is it a diffused down pipe?? Please take some pics because I need to make myself a diffused one soon.

CChemCooladmin11 Oct 2007, 11:56

76 mm bell mouth. Will have pics by weekend earliest. Will take out with engine swop.

GGary5711 Oct 2007, 12:16

What kind of a difference will a diffused make over a bell mouth??

PPhinx11 Oct 2007, 13:51

Defused will flow more if the waste-gate is made a screamer pipe.

But bell mouth on average will allow more flow over a integrated defused unit.

Look we are arguing over a small difference here,

Good and great, then I am happy.

wwidowmaker11 Oct 2007, 16:50

EEro_sennin12 Oct 2007, 17:30

Have you started yet Freddie?

CChemCooladmin13 Oct 2007, 18:41

Yip, I have.
I tried to call you on cellphone, but no connection to you.
All ok up to this point of removing the old engine, except one snag that is going to hold me back:
The right side engin mounting broken/torn. Standing from the front of the sx. Nissan=no stock. Midas nada, Autozone nada.
Will investigate Skyline 3 liter(tip from the club pimp)
Pics= plenty VC, plenty

Are you just removing the engine or both the engine and gearbox?
I want to try to remove mine tomorrow...

Thanks chem

vveecee13 Oct 2007, 23:48

phinx - they say taking the engine and gearbox out together is the easiest. a little messy cosof the oil can like to be pissing out the prop hole (eish that sounds nasty!!!).

chemcool - post some pics dude!!! and go and scavenge an engine mount bracket at the engine importers. many engines still have them attached to their motors and they dont care much for stripping them off - for a small fee of course!

CChemCooladmin22 Oct 2007, 14:18

Ok, rebuild engine in and starting, but: waterleak still to be rectified and then I dont get the engin to idle. It chokes itself to DEATH either by timing, petrol, air or something. Like 3 cylinders and have to keep the engin running by pumping the gas pedal.

Lifters still quit noisy and some other sound above 2000 revs??????

Seriuosly no time for pics now, need to get the sx running and need to earn some money in the meantime. So, slighlty busy and somewhat frustrated.

Speak again
