ok.... i will still go get a price later for the courier

VVladeadmin01 Dec 2006, 09:52

I'm not just doing the engine... If you read my first posts I mention the poly bushes, solid aluminum bushes and the Nismo power brace that will be built all off that will aid the car's suspension.

Strut braces and T Braces there is something brewing there... cant comment on it now 8) I am also starting to do my research in coil-overs, want a combination between drift and track... also the ease of maintainability and parts.

Received these in the post yesterday, now the fun will start, there is a crap load of work ahead... Next post will most likely be sometime next week.

I hope to have all work done by end of December... I'll be at home for some at end of December so there will be loads of time to work on the car... downside is most shops and places are closed over that period.

Vlade, are you for real or are you tossing us? Just a question, just seems too good to be true (i wanna be like vlade when i grow up)

GGary5701 Dec 2006, 09:59

Again... why didnt you do any work to the head?? Why didnt you do valve springs, valves, solid ricker lifters, etc?? All of this would of aided in getting more revs 😀 .

wwidowmaker01 Dec 2006, 10:02

gary gives great head

GGary5701 Dec 2006, 10:03

What has all of these parts cost??

GGary5701 Dec 2006, 10:04

I hope you joking 😕??

VVladeadmin01 Dec 2006, 10:19

Its for real! 😂

OOoh forgot to answer the drive train question...

To up your rev range you have to strengthen your drive train, thats uprated springs (Tomei items or some double valve springs) and decent strengthened stainless steel valves... Not forgetting cams, when going over a certain degree its important to change your hydrolic lifters to solid lifters... all the above is hugely expensive... and its not necessary to do for the power I'm aiming for

300whp isn't huge, but I want my torque band to be very wide and thus have power available over the rev range...

GGary5701 Dec 2006, 10:25

Yes change all those parts without cam change and you can easily see 7500rpm max power 😀 , wicked. You can get 300whp reliable with STD internals not prob, some of my mates in AUS have theres at 250RwKw/335WHp and they run great.

Whats the cost of this motor rebuild including all the accessories??

VVladeadmin01 Dec 2006, 10:30

Umm so far R10K+ the expensive stuff was the pistons at R4K... I'll do a complete cost after I'm done don't want to scare my self yet... but then again, I didn't buy all the parts in two months, some of it I bought back in January like the clutch brakes and so forth.

DDanielmoderator01 Dec 2006, 10:36

When i 1st got my car the plan was to atleast fix/replace/upgrade at least 1 thing every month so that eventually id have a sorted car 😀

I've been going backwards, severely under estimated the cost of running the car 😢

Your car is turning out great though Vlade. Awesome stuff

GGary5701 Dec 2006, 10:40

What brakes are you putting on, cost?? Always wanted to know what is the drivability like with those button cluthes?? Can you slip the clutch slightly for traffic driving etc??

VVladeadmin01 Dec 2006, 11:15

Brakes going Z32 brakes with DBA 4000 rotors... Cost for that was like R6K... Calipers was R2500 rotors R3500

Can't comment on the clutch just yet, but I mentioned in another post that I drove my buddies (Slade's) car that had a 2ltr with a solid plate and it was very very drivable.

You know what I had the car for 2 years now, every thing broke that can break... So yeah it was a mater of replacing this and replacing that and now its starting to become very stable.

GGary5701 Dec 2006, 11:18

Where did you get the calipers from?? I have bigger rotors but not calipers.

PPhinx01 Dec 2006, 11:25

yo Vl@de.

please tell me how that exhuast manmi fits one to get one for my baby.

VVladeadmin01 Dec 2006, 11:27

Calipers I got from a buddy in Aus and rotors I sourced from PowerBrake they where too expensive for me to import by air mail so I left it with PowerBrake... Never want to send stuff by ship again... its way way to nerve racking...

@Phinx it does look like one have to move the ABS, will have to see...

GGary5701 Dec 2006, 11:39

Whats nerve recking about shipping?? I imported my cooler kits fine.
