that engine bay looks hawt man...

sorry dont know anybody willing to lend their trailers out, even though i know someone with a flatbead trailer specifically designed for a racing car - he's a bit of a pontce - so he wont be keen.

apologies - i used an a-frame to tow my sx around when it needed panelbeating!!! cant you get one of those at a hire shoppe, or...

with your welding skills and sandblasting box, just make one!!!

my pansywagon should be up to the challenge

VVladeadmin16 Feb 2007, 11:54

Its cool thanks Widow... Booked a trailer for Sunday... it's safer that way 😀

VVladeadmin18 Feb 2007, 18:11

Ok so the car went in Today... Huge thanks to my bud Danie for helping me out... I would not have been able to do it alone...

I must say it was a mission, the trailer was freaking heavy with the car on it it was F#CKING heavy, some uphills the poor Citroen Picasso could only manage 38km/h, poor 1.8L.

I dropped half a car off at Duane today, blerry bonet didn't fit back on after I moved the ABS, will need to get my ass around his place and try and sort it out, can't drive the car like that... Well you can 😈 just last time the cops wasn't too happy with me.

As we tried to drive the car into his workshop, other oil-line was pissing out oil... And just a few weeks ago I took the other line in for new fitting as it was leaking. THOSE THING's ARE ABSOLUTE SHIT! MARK MY WORDS! The Cooler it self is cool, that FONG KONG line kits are not!

thanks for the headsup! was very interested in those kits myself. guess that i will just go to the mad german, and take my tub of vaseline to make the experience more pleasant!!!

VVladeadmin19 Feb 2007, 06:34

My opinion one have to stick with the brands that has been tried and tested... Like Mocal for instance.

vveecee19 Feb 2007, 13:24

the german is a hydraulics expert in randburg, cant remember the name of his shop.

he charges an absolute fortune for his service and products, but you can be assured that it will be of the best quality and will last for a long time!

two oil cooler lines about 0.5 meters each with big banjos on the ends cost us about R1100-00 about two years back. they've never leaked and run on a rotary that likes to get very hot in the back of a beetle!!!!

VVladeadmin19 Feb 2007, 14:14

Getting new Teflon lines made... not as pretty but it would do the job... also Decent braided is only about 4/5 times as much as the teflon.

VVladeadmin20 Feb 2007, 07:42

4900 views hehe....

Nah I'm keeping the car.. Cant turn back now... really I can't not yet... She's getting some TLC from Duane he'll sort her out.

VVladeadmin23 Feb 2007, 11:29

UPDATE: The engine is completely destroyed - that goes for my forged internals and well basically everything...

So who has a gun... Got a 9mm but I want to make a nice mess 😢

GGary5723 Feb 2007, 11:34

Why what happened to the internals??

VVladeadmin23 Feb 2007, 11:48

Valve guide broke... Once again... work I didn't do my self... everything I do my self... works...

GGary5723 Feb 2007, 11:51

So did it drop the valve?? what has gone on the inside?? Can it be easily/cheaply fixed??

VVladeadmin23 Feb 2007, 11:54

No from what I heard the valve is sorta fine, but the the guide, broke and that made some "Sold Fuel" to smash my squish area and pistons

GGary5723 Feb 2007, 11:58

But surely not all four pistons are gone?? Can you replace just 1 piston or have to buy a set??

You have more of heart, or a deaper pocket, than I do; at this point I would throw the towel in and put the old motor back and sell it.

VVladeadmin23 Feb 2007, 12:11

no bud my cash is well dried up, I saved up a long time to build that motor, spent hours upon hours building it... just to let it get killed by someone else's negligence

The head was completely overhauled by JR Cylinder head's in Maloro JHB. I asked them to check everything and replace what is needed... The head was overhauled 6 months back by Cylinder Head Services in PTA, but I didn't want to hold back and sent it in again... This jobby was R1200

Really not sure what to do now... I am thinking of sueing JR but I'll first get my facts straight.

DDanielmoderator23 Feb 2007, 12:20

😮

HOLY CRAP! thats bad news. Id try nail JR then.
