CA18DET ECU Information - not anymore

Mine is a everyday car.

Why is there a AFR map anyway, the stock sx didnt have a lambda sensor so could run closed loop. Down low (very low) it says 15.55 but on cruise it is low - mid 14s, this is where I am at 15.5 or so. AFR at full boost high RPM would cause the car to smoke, low 10s is too rich.

Still unsure about the timing map though.

This Speedlimiter thing is becoming annoying...

nah, dont sweat it bru, just knocking about.. 😂
anyway,

did you notic somthing about the Feul map and knock fuel map along with the timing maps on the Mec-d005 Ecu's

no? have to admit i havent really played around with this ecu, seeing as i dont have anything running one?

The hot climate wouldnt effect it because the car uses a MAF so air temp is measured.

The stock car doesnt blow black smoke at high rpm that is why I asked about the AFR. At 9AFR I am sure it would be blowing smoke.

That "smoke" you see in your rear view mirror is always there, just at night you see it better with the other cars lights making it look like its smoking black.

POP

Umm with this one you are going to need to read how the AFM and IAT work togeter to return a single voltage to the ECU

I dont want to turn this into an arguement but this is what a MAF does, measures the density and flow of the air through it. This way you dont need an air temp sensor.

HHancoB19 Jun 2008, 15:17

ok let me rephrase...

Do you see your exhaust gases in the rear view mirror when you drive at day time? no you dont but you do at night when a car is driving behind you and his lights makes you see the "smoke".

better?

😉

The CA18 has a MAF not a AFM, which measures density/mass of air.

another speed sensor thing

but OK you win

OK never mind I give up

is everything a flippin competition with you??? you seem to be a little hung up over what other people think!

as i understand you've downloaded the maps of the 'net somewhere. how sure are you that the maps you are defending are exactly the same as the stock maps loaded into the stock SA ECU???

also - the program you are using to read and change the maps, how sure are you that it is the same as the one that the nissan engineers used for the SA ECU's???

i say this only to establish some credibility with the claims you are making.

3300sx19 Jun 2008, 22:45

dude.. you just let them win..

Sorry to be a chop here, but comments like that VC is what makes people leave this Forum. Are you not suppose to set an example?

He was only trying to help out, clearly he has allot of knowledge about ecu's. Much more than allot of other people on this forum....

Why not cut people some slack and stop making rude comments.....

Why must he set an example, because he is a moderator??

Yes he has alot of knowledge about ECU but something simple like how a MAF works is VERY different to how a AFM works. Thinking the Nissan engineers left some slack in the fuel map for us to fit exhausts and cone filters 😕 , I doubt that. Phinx I aint attcking you, you sent me the software, I had a look at the map I dont believe that that map is the one in our cars; the timing map doesnt even work to the 15degrees we see on idle.

Sorry I have said my bit now, guy continue argueing now 😂 .
