beautiful like a rainbow!

PPinkfluffybunnys17 Jul 2008, 09:22

She started and had a quick run around the block yesterday. She does have a Small problem with seriously over fueling at low RPM like 11-12 AFR

PPinkfluffybunnys21 Jul 2008, 09:37

Its Alive!!! Its Alive!!!

All I can say is road tuning takes a hell of a long time but I am very happy with the results this was the best R 200 petrol I have ever spent.
The car is running great after fiddling with the fuel maps for about three hours on the road the power really started coming on, Idle has been set to 14.7 AFR giving a nice Idle even when cold, 60km, 100km and 120 km cruise have an AFR of 14.0 to 14.4 (Peak power N/A) and boost ramp is 13.7 to 12.7 and Full throttle is a 12 to 12.7 AFR.

She really pushes you back in the seat when you jump on the peddle and I still need to work on the timing as she is running the stock map, After looking at the aggressive timing curve on the Mines and Jtune RB25DET maps I’m surprised that motor doesn’t self-destruct, we will take a degree at a time and watch that Knock monitor.

And you cant plug a narrow band (O2 sensor into the stock ECU it doesn’t have the hardware to read the input)

12-12.7 is quite lean hey, how does it run at that AFR?? Also when cruising you can run it leaner than 14.7 hey, I run mine at 15.5.

PPinkfluffybunnys21 Jul 2008, 11:45

Different Stokes for different foks.

12 is exactly where I want her 11 and 10 are power robbing but you just have to be easy on the timing most tuned chips take this fueling stance also when she’s in N/A mode 14.2 is the best power mixture for an N\A the GTR runs the same fueling yep she’s going to be a bit heavier on the juice but I don’t drive here to JHB anymore also you must feel the throttle response damn but thanks for the help gary

GGary5721 Jul 2008, 11:55

What timing are you running then at full load with AFR of 12:1?? I am running 23degrees at 11.8-11.5:1. Also what timing are you running when cruising in vacuum, -0.2Bar??

PPinkfluffybunnys21 Jul 2008, 12:02

Shes running the base map...

The timming I sent you.

GGary5721 Jul 2008, 12:12

Oh ok. will you be fiddling with the timing at all??

PPinkfluffybunnys21 Jul 2008, 12:42

yep. I will use the knock monitor and a good ear

GGary5721 Jul 2008, 13:35

Maybe build your self a set of DET cans, they really work great.

PPinkfluffybunnys25 Jul 2008, 14:01

Howzit Guys...

Installed my new Toy today the 76mm stainless exhaust system is on the car. I love the Jap style back-box and the side exit looks damn nice.
I will get pic’s for you guys, I have given the old system to a Club member hope he like’s it.

Also I was able to get my hands on a Horsham developments Chip the timing curve insnt close to the stock chip so there is a lot changed anyway will keep you guys posted.

The next Mod’s are going to be Race Disk’s all around and a Stage 3 Clutch system as it slipping badly again .

GGary5725 Jul 2008, 14:10

Please let me know about the ignition map.

PPinkfluffybunnys25 Jul 2008, 14:15

Also forgot to add, i weighed the SX and with a quarter Tank she was 1180 KG

PPinkfluffybunnys26 Jul 2008, 20:00

Pis's Of the Exhaust...

All I added was a 76mm Flex stainless flex section just after the turbo's down-pipe , I'm very impressed with the quality and with the secnd box the system is quieter then my old system

DDoctor G27 Jul 2008, 06:49

Nice PFB. I've been wanting a system like that for a while now...

What make is that sysem? Is your car lowered yet? If not it looks like there will only be cm's clearance to the ground once that's done.

PPinkfluffybunnys27 Jul 2008, 18:58

To be Honest , Im not sure what system it is I got it for a song and the welds and workmanship are great best bet would be a Megan Racing system.

I did check measurements and its 80mm outer-diameter and true 76mm internal.

My turbo has started smoking again so I have lost back-pressure and there is a change on the Air-fuel ratio meter , she has not been dropped yet.

I have to admit the timing change from the stage 3 chip has made her more responsive but I am a bit disappointed I happened to get a run with a worked 330CI and a new Mini cooper S , I was able to open a 1 and 1/2 car gap on the mini and a 1/2 car gap on the 330 but I was hoping to give them a bigger gap and the car feels stronger but maybe my butt dyno is acting up again

GGary5728 Jul 2008, 08:39

Did you race them from standstill?? Also you do you know if they were stock??

PPinkfluffybunnys28 Jul 2008, 08:42

From standstill, 330Ci was worked had a kick ass exhuast system the Mini looked stock and went like stock
