Utter Frustration

Toby glad to see your spirit is up again, I think you are on the right raod to recovery, emgine being able to fix an engin and stuff yourself, if we could get some help here and there we never need to pay anyone anymore to do something for us.....pure bliss 😀

DONT be silly, rather than buying a 2nd hand motor which you dont know what condition its in, do what VLADE is doing. Spend the extra R3000 and get a real strong motor. Rather re-do yours and then you know where you stand with it.

EEro_sennin06 Dec 2006, 08:57

R3000, I think vlade is spending alot more than that though. 😮

GGary5706 Dec 2006, 09:24

R3000, I think vlade is spending alot more than that though.

R3000 on top of buying a 2nd hand motor, will see you at about R10 000.

EEro_sennin06 Dec 2006, 09:43

Well its something Im planning on doing aswell. Buying SR20, have it fully checked out and rebuilt and then dropping it in. So hopefully that would get rid of me having to spend a few grand every month or so on my car.

GGary5706 Dec 2006, 09:46

Im not sure why you guy are always spending money on your sx'x, mine doesnt cost me a cent beside the mods that I am busy with and the servicing every 3500Km. Maybe I am just lucky 😉 ?!

EEro_sennin06 Dec 2006, 09:48

suppose yours was looked after. If the previous owner fixed the bloody Injectors when the started leaking I wouldnt have had the problem of detonation wich fucked up my engine

GGary5706 Dec 2006, 09:51

You should of listened for pinging 😛 , nawty nawty 😈 . If you service your car every 3500Km, you can pick up those kind of problems as soon as they arise or VERY soon after.

It is called a spanner party.... everybody available pitch up at Tobys house with spanners, spares and lots of cold stuff to drink.... and everybody learns from everybody.... Cheap, easy 😀 😀 😀

EEro_sennin06 Dec 2006, 11:57

HAHA Good Idea, although my car is also screwed so I cant come to yet another event

DDracomoderator06 Dec 2006, 12:07

Johansx that is a brilient plan....why didn't we think of this before, guys I think this is the way to go.

Toby in my opinion you could buy a import engin and then we all gather and strip the broken part from that engin and repair yours, by the way I just remembered I have someone that did a engin change and we could maybe buy your part from him for cheap...let me know what you need then I can speak to the guy.

Speaking about that, I saw a previos post that imports are kak...this guy is one of a few others who did the import swop and wasn't disapointed. Even if the engin isn't that good it is always a source for parts.

jjohansx06 Dec 2006, 13:11

...and if you know nothing about spanners, you better know how to braai 😂

Any body see the latest Tourque magazine. Small 1 page article on import engines and Part one of 200sx build up also, reason I bought it, any way back to engine article..... Seems 90% usually are rubish, might explain a few things. They gave some tips on what to look out for when buying a import engine, some real shocking info also on they way engines are treated in Japan. This might not be true but it makes sense when I look at my CA and I assume in S14RB25's RB25's case

I thinks Toby still has his original engine though, so Tuner might be to blame ?

Just a thought.

Thats the article i wrote that has engine importers up in total arms threatening to sue Torque Mag because now that people are checking motors and realising they kak the guys arnt getting the sales.

I wrote that article specificaly for Nissan SR20's go look on my site for un unsensored version with pics

VVladeadmin06 Dec 2006, 13:51

Haha... luckily they can't hold it against you, as they havn't even given you credit for it 😂

But the engine importers really step it up, cuz the are selling crap

EEro_sennin06 Dec 2006, 15:28

rezlo do you import engines cause I supose you would only get quality engines 😀 thus I would be interested. If so how much and to get it to gauteng hopefully wouldnt cost an arm and a leg. I might settle for a finger though. 😂

RRezlo06 Dec 2006, 15:42

Well, yes and no,
I Unfortunatly only import high end front clips like RB's 2jz's and so on with complete wiring harnsses, ecu's ectr ectr for swap purposes,

It wouldnt be worth your while getting a motor from me, I honestly charge a premium because I have to pay threw my butt to get them here from the US where i know they have been tested, ran, cleaned, and delivered looking brand new, with garanteeded low mileage and servise history.

Your best bet is to read the article (its on my site to) and go to an engine importer knowing what to look for, if you do that you should be a good motor 🙂

Now if you wanted to go SR20 or RB25/6 thats a different story, but not many have R40-R60k to throw aound.

wwidowmaker06 Dec 2006, 15:44

*giving Ero_sennin the finger*

EEro_sennin06 Dec 2006, 16:31

Widowmaker : Not that finger 😂
I am actually planning on going the SR20 Route. But 40k + is not something I have to throw around as you said.
PS how much do body parts go for these days 🙄

wwidowmaker06 Dec 2006, 16:35

woohaa saw a dead s13 at a scrap yard a while back and i was still saying maybe we should pitch in and buy the whole bloody thing and take what we need...

RRezlo06 Dec 2006, 16:47
