Nice going there man... I'm glad to see more and more SX owners get their hands dirty...
yeah once you replace the wheels/shaft you need to balance the thing, which can only be done by a pro...

Mine cost about 4'gs to do
cant remember if i mentioned it already - but that turbo will need a new shaft and new wheels. maybe new housing because the blades made contact.

Looks good don't you think, nice sparkle in the sun:

Prepping the flat surfaces with 100grit water sanding paper to get out a few nasty scratches....

The already Sprayed ashtray...

the masking up of the parts I dont want to spray

The first coat...

random plate I'm gonna use underneath the radio:

Center console after 3rd coat...

made a few small bubbles, so sanded it down and gave it another two coats...

The finished products:

Still need to spray the cluster surround and the power window control panels. also the airvent surrounds...
Nice. What colour is that?
Also what paint did you use and what was the process. Prepping? Sanding? Base coats? primer? Sorry for the 20 questions but that's good info to know when seeing threads like these...

Hey G! It's all good!
It's black/gunmetal hammerite spray, the hammerite gives it a bit of a sparkle effect.
Ok and the process: First off I water sanded the parts with a 1000 grit sandpaper and then a 2000grit. After I wiped it clean with watered down thinners, just to get all the filth and particles off. Then I just sprayed the first coat of hammerite, no primers or base coats.
Sprayed 3 coats and then sanded again with 2000grit to get all the imperfections out. sprayed another 2 coats and then polished with wax. came out nicely I think.

cool cool
now just load up some pictures of the final product fitted back in the car then it's all good. ๐
