FrankenZteins back!

🙂 im not to interested in drag ladders, so you guys can fight amongst yourselves for that one:), let me know when though.. i wouldnt mind watching:)

ja Reece i couldnt agree with you more, the green stripe is sif! But i was quite suprised at how well the Z rims fitted, even if it takes a bit of camber to get the rears under the arches:)

Gary and his ballie whent out of there way to get my car to the Xhaust shop on time, where it had been booked in for weeks in advance, but it has been a classic hurry up and wait story:( sorry for the stuff around Gary... the oke has had it now 3 days and all thats happened is he's taken the old xhaust off and the turbo flange has been lazer cut, wow.., im a little pissed off becuase i even took 2 days off work to be there while he was 'supposed' to be installing the cage and xhaust. intitially he told me id be ready to roll it out by thursday, which is tomorow, ...so i had planned to be giving 'good' feedback by today:(.. anyway he's promised to have it done by the end of next week, so lets see:( .. if its not ready by then, then i'll be telling you guys where NOT to have your xhaust done!

DDriftZ16 Apr 2009, 20:47

A fair amount of work has been done, the xhaust is looking good.. sitting nice and tight under the car.. not yet finished but im happy with it so far. The roll cage however was made wrong first time so i had him start again.. it's looking good now, my only issue is he ended up using 2mm rather than the 3mm like i asked for,, a number of times!! But otherwise his work is really really good, and im satisfied with how its all turning out. we're going to build the C-pillar brace into the cage. He's welding the cage into the car, which is better but the only problem is this will mean i wont be able to remove the dash. ..progress photos so far...

RReeceZ16 Apr 2009, 22:37

im sure ive seen this steering wheel somwhere hmmmm ahhahahaha 😂

DDriftZ17 Apr 2009, 09:03

…the idea from the beginning has been a street legal track/drift car, so i can drive to the tracks.
Its looking good and original plans are ‘on track’, but its been a very expensive exercise, way more than I initially planed for. original budget was set at R115 000 but now we're sitting at R152 000 and there's still things that need doing, scary 🙁 .. but I’m sure I’ll be happy once I begin driving it, shouldn’t be too long now.. I flippen hope so!!

..Ja poizn I needed that wheel while sitting at the exhaust shop, didn’t need the guy damaging my Sparco wheel before I get to use it 🙂

..Ja Reece that’s the reason I wanna make the car Matt black… stealth style to hide from the cops 🙂 🙂

im scared of this aswell being my car published in sns with the doors up etc and it not hard to spot me hahhaha now cant fool them saying the door opens normaly

DDriftZ17 Apr 2009, 09:55

...Poizn i wouldnt worry too much, ive had a car featured in Sns and it was also a street legal track/drag car that had been Heavily modified with illegal things like shaved handles and different everything, and to top it off it was Bright Orange and as Loud as Hell with no baffle at all on my turbo system. The feature was called the 'Baked Bean' if you wanna look it up.
I got pulled over by the cops a few times.. but they just wanted to know more about it than to bust me.. seems if you really make the car nice and you are politly engaging towards them they let you off.. i dunno, ha ha

Car is looking awsome man !!!!

Just noticed in the first few pics that the one waterpipe has a bit of a kink in it( next to the turbo), i have a cheap/easy fix that I learned from mr CHIP FOOSE, you take a stainless steel welding rod , turn that around something to make a spring like form, this should be just big enough to fit inside the waterpipe snugly, put this in the area that kinks, this should keep the pipe opened up to allow max flow of coolant and if proper stainless is used will last for a long time.

Use it or loose it 🙄

DDriftZ17 Apr 2009, 12:57

Ja Riekert, that Ghia was mine, a guy in a honda wrote it off, miss it 🙁

Shot H.boost for the tip ... ja Chip.F is da MAN! ..but dont worry the pipes are all good now 🙂

HHighboost17 Apr 2009, 13:02

All good my man !!

Don't wanna loose a motor because of a waterpipe. 😈

Didn't wanna sound like I think I know it all...... 😳

DDriftZ17 Apr 2009, 13:04
