mmmm awesome vid but between your other vids you have one of the turbo at idle... dude it looks like there is something wrong with it... that turbo has alot of brake on it. it should keep spinning for a bit. 😕 i'd have that checked

RRiekertadmin26 Jun 2009, 12:59

yeah... the only prob is its brand new! 0_0

Spoke to Mr Turbo, said I must send turbo back to them to have it checked. What a mission, was like that when I got it, supposed to be a new ball bearing turbo.

RRBSX29 Jun 2009, 17:29

Hey Rb

very nice

but that turbo is cooked, they must give you a new one

my t72 non bb spins like its on boost at idle

i think the bearing might be cooked on that one

or is it the video thats not buffering proply

RRB25SX30 Jun 2009, 10:00

the video shows how the turbo wheel just stops, does not move on idle. supposed to be a ball bearing turbo. Will see what I can sort out with Mr turbo.

RRBSX30 Jun 2009, 21:05

i read your other post that sounds dodgy

those ball bearing should offer less resisitance

can see how my t72 spins on idle and your stops like that

if you try spinning it with your finger does it feel stiff ???

Yes, it is a bit tight when u spin it with your fingers, but Mr turbo (Ivan) said to put some more milage on it and see if it loosens up, if not, they will strip and check it.

3300sx01 Jul 2009, 15:20

speaking out of turn here, but afaik a duel bb turbo should spin freely out of the box.. dont know your specific turbo, but the one i have lying about has a bolt into the center housing to adjust free-play..

maybe yours is mal-adjusted? just a thought..

pphoenix s1401 Jul 2009, 15:36

mmmmm sounds to me like they want your warrantee to expire so they have a reason not to swop it... they are very crappy if you want to exchange stuff... (note: not return or refund) something about a baby and having a family to feed as far as I remember... 😕

pphoenix s1401 Jul 2009, 15:41

I think however I'd insist to have a new one taken out and compared at least to yours... 😉 seriously... they can rather swop it now than when it has damage or scratches etc to it... at least then they can fix it and resell... well... maybe it needs to be "run in" anyone buy a new BB turbo recently??? run in needed???

The T-BO e.m.s is not bad, for more info go to : http://www.tbo.co.za
Been using it on my RB30DET with no problems. think i damaged the RB26 (Broken ring or ring land)but cant say its the managements fault.
Nismo engine decal, I had made here in Ctn.

ssmoothedgp21 Jul 2009, 18:06

thanks for the info,is that decal like a gel sticker?

RRB25SX22 Jul 2009, 09:15

Yes. thick gel sticker.

RRB25SX07 Sept 2009, 17:19

After unfortunate engine damage to the RB26, I will rebuild the engine with new parts. RB26 cyl head cracked beyond repair, so I will only use the RB26 crank, rods and pistons in a RB25DET block with RB25DET VVT head. Will be a 2600cc with VVT.
Recieved all the parts, only waithing for crank collar and will use a o-ring metal head gasket. Should be good for 500hp.
Parts: CP Forged pistons
ARP head and conrod bolts
ACL race bearings
Nissan N1 oil pump
Crank collar
Greddy cam belt
Nissan Gasket set RB26
Metal head gasket.
All the parts except for the head gasket cost less than R20K(landed), after some carefull shopping over the internet and importing it myself.
