Arias are very good, they make 2 type, a zero silicone and high silicone one, the high silicone one are better for street cars as they don't expand that much and can run with tighter clearances

DDriftZ09 Apr 2010, 08:34

im running Arias pistons.. no problems

PP3g4susmoderator14 Apr 2010, 12:44

Well the pistons I will decide later!

Now I want to Know, how difficult is it to get the Motor back in the Car?

Me and my Friend (Martin: Thanx Dude!) Took about 4 hours to pull the motor!
Wouldn't it be better to take the rebuilded motor to someone to put it back?

CCharlvdw14 Apr 2010, 12:49

Its not that difficult as long as you have some sort of winging apparatus to lower it back in.

PP3g4susmoderator14 Apr 2010, 12:50

Well we used a winch to take it out, But struggled a bit, Being the first motor We both Pulled out of An engine bay!

Hi, I'm with you on rebuilding the CA rather then fit SR. Gotta admit, the SR still my wish. But finance always an issue. Living in Jozi flat so no own backyard, meaning can't attempt myself. (Sucks nogal)
After countless attempts to get the Pieter's & all the other Tuners to give a quote, let alone do the job, I finally got Colin, who seems to be the 1st interested. He talks the lingo, can see in his workshop he fettles on the right stuff, and immediately gave a quote. Hmm....
All that short of selling my baby. What stopped me? That &%$*@ BM Saleman! Offered me 10grand as trade-in! That only confirmed he never owned a SX in his miserable life before. Think he never had the pleasure to sit in the passenger seat before either šŸ™‚
Keep all posted on Colin, maybe he can be the next SX Messiah?

Gto arderdorfs and buy yourself a leveller to tilt the engine forward or backwards

That's me!!! Wooohoooo šŸ˜‚

Best pistons by far - a set Wiseco forged. No Slap. Little if not no extra clearance needed. plus the crown is heat treated and the skirt have an anti friction coating. plus that beautifull W logo on the side... MMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMM

DDriftZ15 Apr 2010, 19:12

mmmm nice

It's not that difficult, but you must have someone to help. I've done it about 4 times now šŸ™‚ Once it took about 45 mins because I didn't take the gearbox out, so I was trying to line up the engine with the engine mounts as well as the gearbox. If you took the engine out with gearbox, then putting it in should be a 10 minute job, if not less. Obviously there mustn't be oil in the gearbox, and you'll need to hoist the engine + gearbox using a block and tackle or engine crane.

If you need help, let me know in advance and I can come over and help.

Thx toby, when we get there for the motor to go back, I will give you a shout!
Well I have some bad news. The build needs to take a back seat for now. I have to fix my Bakkie first. But will be going forward with the build in June!
The drifting event changed some of my idea`s So we will see what happens!
😈

Hi everyone.

I hate it when I do this, but I dont know what I want to do! can you believe it?? 😳

Rebuild on the motor is still first priority, but then, I dont know what to do from there?

1: Drift car.
2: Drag car.
3: "Rondfok" everyday toy.
4: Show car.

Any Idea`s from you guys? Its probably not going to change my mind, but would like to see what you guys think?

I am aiming for 250rwkw on the CA18. And my plan for the car have changed so much already, and every time I "read up" on my car, my backside starts itching.

rratadmin19 May 2010, 09:25

250rwkw can be done on a CA but SR would be better. Over 200rwkw CA becomes costly.

Build your car for a all rounder then untill you know

Brakes - Bigger what ever path you take this is always needed
Coilovers - something like the BC's or D2's with softer spring rates 6-4kg
Poly Bushes

PP3g4susmoderator19 May 2010, 09:51

Thx Rat, Will keep that in mind

PP3g4susmoderator02 Jun 2010, 08:48

Hi every one!

I have some good news and some bad news!

The bad news is:The Power rebuild of my CA18 has too wait a little bit. I have a new project car for my Girlfriend that needs first attention.

The good news is: I am searching for another CA18 or SR20 for the time being, Just so that I can Use the car. Rather SR20, Because I want to use the motor at a later stage for another car.

But I will post the motor swop, and so on.

Now I am going to rename my project: Project "Slick-Tic"

PP3g4susmoderator03 Jun 2010, 13:47

Oky, So I am going with a CA18, got the motor, just need to save up, and then I can use my car again! Wont thank the owner of the motor just yet, Dont know If he wants it public! lol!

There must be something wrong with me! 😈 I am talking to myself, And enjoying it.Too much! šŸ˜• Must be 200SX Fever! šŸ˜›

CA18 Rules! 😈

RRiekertadmin03 Jun 2010, 13:51
