awe maybe i should do that but my only problem is the motor got messed and the guys fixed it... but i dont have trust in this fixed motor it shorts some coils and stuff...

SO is the CA18dett strong enough to DRIFT with?

Send it to a person that knows these cars ,What area you in ?

Once you know the problems fix those only to save cash .

The CA motor is a strong motor and i am sure will be fine to start off with to practice , I remember reading that in japan there practice cars where the CA still with a few bolt ons ๐Ÿ˜‰ I think it was in SnS when a few guys went over to Japan to check out the scene 8)

aads11 May 2010, 10:04

yes its strong enough.

sshazaad11 May 2010, 11:50

awe guys i thinks thats what i sould do and maybe invest some money in coilovers and wheels! ๐Ÿ˜‚ AND a DUMP vaulve<<< VERY IMPORTANT!

ggodzilla11 May 2010, 12:58

that would be a wise buy, coilovers,be prepared for a less comfortable ride though. but they wont go to waste. a strong ca and some suspention upgrades, to stiffen things up ......

Hey Shazaad, I had a 1jz-gte in...
Now I have 2 jz-gte in my s13 silvia...
You have to make alot of changes to go with a 1jz or 2jz...
The RB25 and SR20 will be good options to look at.
Just remember the SR20 is ALOT lighter than the RB or 1/2JZ...

thanks silvias13 im going to see my machi tomorrow so we will talk and decide what is best for the car he is talking about 1jz as he has done this conversion before...

im thinking sr20 so that i can just get it all done with and start getting the car to drift... i meen i have seen 200kw sr20's on the net and im sure 1 can pass the mark as well!

and 1 more thing SilviaS13 is that ur car in the profile pic?
coz if yes i checked u drift at spin city 2010...

SSilviaS1314 May 2010, 10:21

Sure no problem, There are a couple of guys at the track that use SR20's.
Adam, which is one of the top drifters in the country uses one.

Yip, thats my car in the profile pic, Where is spin city?

SSilviaS1314 May 2010, 10:29

AWE must say you did prety good! what motor are u running in the car now?

and is lots of power a advatage when drifting?
or will the sr20det do the job?

SSilviaS1314 May 2010, 13:10

Thanks!!!
I am running a 2jz gte. 0.6 bar 250kw & just over 500NM torque. Standard motor & injectors.
I like power, and for me it does make it easier to get out of a tight spot.
But if you can drift well, you don't need alot of power. Another thing to take into consideration is if you are going to do a high speed drifting, it is not easy without the power...3rd 4th gear.

well i wont lie to you but i have never drifted before and this will be a new thing to me but will to learn. after seeing u guys drift in kimberly i said i want in and i got me a sx in 3weeks thats how much i really want to drift... i dont know why i just cant help to think that our sa no 1 (otto) is just winning because he has the power advantage maybe im wrong but his cars are very strong! not that he is not a good driver.... but u know what i meen!

SSilviaS1314 May 2010, 15:39

I understand, He is a very good driver!!!
Not someone you want to tandem with on his own track.
But the power is an advantage, otherwise we would all still be using CA18's. Sorry guys...

rratadmin14 May 2010, 15:57

Learn on low power then move up

SSilviaS1314 May 2010, 16:01

Exactly!!!
You must be able to drift fast and slow!
Remember there is a difference between drifting and power sliding!
Learn to use your hand brake!!!

I had good fun drifting in my stock sx and my CA that was modded to 150rwkw

SSilviaS1314 May 2010, 16:27

Yip, lots of fun...
One of the guys at The Rock drifts very well in a STOCK BMW318i...
And that in less than 100kw on the wheels...
