Demigod...The hopefull quest for more...

It's done, the car is tuned and how can I expect everything to go well, got the car back, started driving and at around 40km/h the car started hopping around as if the wheel is coming off, checked it out and all looked well, decided to go to a tyre shop for them to put the car on a lift and check.

Surprize:Kempton%20Park-20140429-00520.jpg So now I'm crippled, in Kempton and 40km/s away from home, luckely Mr Louis Kouf could hook me up, bill for the tune and 2 new back tyres: R4500 😈 all the extra money I had down the drain.

The car did well I suppose, not impressed, feel that the turbo wants to boost more to make power, feels like it's not getting enough flow to reach it's potencial, boost comes in smooth, not as agressive as when I boost more.
Boost: 1.5 bar
Result: wheel kw: 250
Torque. : 389 nm Kempton%20Park-20140429-00517.jpg Kempton%20Park-20140429-00518.jpg

What timing are you running? Care to send the map so I can have a squizz?

DDracomoderator30 Apr 2014, 06:52

Thanks Mike, but I'm not as impressed.

Will do Gary, the tuner pulled back the timing plenty from where it was.

SSonOfAnarchy ZAadmin30 Apr 2014, 07:51

nice dude it seems our cars were tuned the same as my boost no longer comes in very aggressively like before but i found this time around its alot smoother!

I had a look at Derek's map and there is no way that map could be smooth...

250 on the wheels is a lot. Well done.

What makes you say that?

Derek can post screenshots of his map if he wants. It was a typical dyno tjooner shit job, car on and off the rollers as quick as possible.

SSonOfAnarchy ZAadmin01 May 2014, 18:56

So when you say its nit smooth is this sonething you will feel on the road?

Yes, the way car feels on the road is the way it is tuned. If the tune is kak and done at 1000rpm increments and 0.5bar intervals you cannot expect it to be smooth. You can see if the car will drive smooth by looking at the timing and fuel maps.

SSonOfAnarchy ZAadmin01 May 2014, 20:24

Derek can you post a pic of yout map so I can compare it to mine plz. Cuz mine was tuned by tge same person and mine feels smooth on the road

Post a pic of your map, let's have a look. I'll post mine tomorrow.

I think there is a tuning thread somewhere.

DDracomoderator02 May 2014, 07:38

Hi guys, sorry I'm at hom not having internet, made a plan to get everything to the phone and then post it, the fueling map does not look to bad in my opinion, the timing map does not look good in my opinion.

I think he did an ok job, but with an ecu like wolf 3D and it's capabilities, I don't think he did it justice, R1200 because it's not the normal ecu around and takes longer to tune....but he took an hour and a half as if it was a dictator or whatever. I'm not totally unhappy, I just ask myself, was it worth R1200?

Here is pics of parts of the maps.

Personally I don't think the power or power curve is bad at all, specially from a ca... Time wise, a dicktator is normally tuned in an hour, so half an hour for fumbling his way around I don't think it's bad either... I would though specify the type of running I want before it even starts, that way of its not too my liking I take it back and it must be sorted out... But ye I agree, every 1000rpm is a bit lose for a car that's being tuned for so much power... A bit dangerous in my opinion... But it is still impressive power...

my spitronics took him 1 and a half hours to tune aswell 😮 and he is a agent for spitronics

GGary5702 May 2014, 13:00

My map from my Wolf 3D is on it's 22nd review each review is easily over an hour and more like 2 hours.

And this was built from a working map.

SSonOfAnarchy ZAadmin02 May 2014, 14:11

thats alot dude but can expect a tuner to do that for the price payed

DDracomoderator05 May 2014, 08:36

I have now figured out why I am not impressed with the car, if I give it stick from the beginning, meaning from 1st gear and keep on pushing through all the gears, it fucks off...I'm impressed.

When I am not impressed is when I was cruising in lets say 3rd or 4th and then start pressing, it takes long to pull, you really have to put the pedal to the metal, so there is a lot to work on there, at least I know if I'm in a race, from 1st she will put up a good fight.

rratadmin05 May 2014, 09:28

Needs some more mapping around those cells
