Cool vid of a strong CA18
My 200sx and the issues (Pics ADSL)
nice this is gonna be a sx to watch out for
Coming along nicely!
Im interested.. When you say custom Flywheel, do you mean modified stock or built from scratch or other? Modified flywheels scare the kak out of me... something goes wrong there you'll know all about it.
Whats up with that sprocket you got on the crank pulley?
Thanks guys!
@ Drfitz...It is the modified cast flywheels (stock) which changes from a flywheel to grinding disc in a matter of 0000.1 secs if you cut away on them. The custom flywheel is made of steel, so it is also allot stronger than stock. A added benefit is that we removed the weight on the outside of the flywheel which causes more of the weight to be centered.
@Sonofanarchy The sprocket is for the 60-2, I am also running a special order Dictator X2 to run with the stock ignition coils. (This deletes the CAS)
nice this is gonna be epic
I can't see any pics Eugene but from what I read it sounds good, looking forward to this sx on the road and track!!
This thread has been very quiet!
Update time 😀
Sorry for the wait fella's
Installed motor

Moved the Battery to the back

Installed a surge tank at the back

Installed extra fuel pumps

Painted the branch

Then i decided Bbm'ing a girl while operating a crane with was a good idea...

Fitted a new 76mm exhaust

Tried to start the car for the 1st time and then we toed the car to see if we can get in going.....Eventually after wasting one day we found the new ecu to be at fault.....Although it gave spark and fuel, it didnt want to start the car so i had to send it in. But the service was great and i got it back asap (Thanks Dictator and MRD Racing)

Car at the dyno

Cant post my figures as yet,...Found the 3 pumps has a restriction somewhere and they do not supply the volume of fuel they are supposed to which causes the car to lose power, the Wastegate's spring is also not hard enough causing the car to lose boost and my "Drift" cone filter is causing me to lose 10whp.....Yet the Drift cone filter with the black front cover we tested is more effective.
We ended on 286whp @ 7200rpms at 0.85 bar boost,.. There is allot of untapped Hp to gain. Going to do a couple of changes and dyno it to around 8200rpms with around 1.8 bar pressure.... Should be interesting! :domo:
Unfortunately i dont have a sheet, but i took this photo on its base run, with the filter. Without the filter the base run with all these issues are 217whp with barely any boost

PS im getting intake temps as low as 4 deg celcius in dyno room (given it was cold and raining yesterday), my intake temps seem to be below 24 deg..... 😀
I was told there are many ways to fix traction issues....I recon i found 2..

Nicely done!

Yup, when hot those will help with traction......and it is "towed".
Car looking good .. 8)
nice should get alot more power
Hahaha @ Bigkriss, good points you have there.
Thanks for the compliments guys! Appreciated, will fix the fueling issue and take some videos of the car and post them 😀
Well Done!
Looks good and so do the power figures,
Some big changes.. awesome!
What have you done to sort the Fuel restriction.. strange that you have restriction with so many pumps...?
I used 1 walbro on my rb25 build.
@ DriftZ and Rat, Seems like it was more of a planning mistake from my side. It would of been the best to have 2 pumps under the car supplying the fuel rail than only running one like i currently have. (Bosch 044) Its delivering 900ml in +- 12 seconds wich is about right for the pump specifications.
If you do the sums it should in "theory" be able to supply enough juice, unfortunately for my specific demands the current volume isnt enough as we found now running the car on the dyno (Luckily!). I am confidant a second pump will fix this issue since it would double the available volume in the fuel rail and raise the available fuel volume to +- 1,5L to 1.8L per 12 seconds, this wil also mean i will run high boost with a very safe margin since there would be very little to no chance of running out of volume and melt some pistons...
Good stuff, I think the restriction is to the surge tank, I have only one intank pump with the 800cc injectors and had no issues, looks like she's going to be strong!!
3 pumps? You don't need 3 pumps for the power your CA will give you.
Where is your return line?
Just a quick update, Have been very busy with the car. I have enough fuel pumps to supply a farm! 😁
Sorted out some small details and weak spots but its getting together well
Will upload some moer pics at a later stage.... For your viewing...
Recent dyno at MRD, Johan is really helping me out allot! Unfortunately we could not finish due to the wastegate giving some problems....
