Accidental 1.5Bar boost

DDanielmoderator29 May 2007, 10:22

Oh and what did you run b4 the WOLF to get it to work?

Any other tips and tricks to getting one of these running?

Does it hold boost to redline?

GGary5729 May 2007, 15:13

flange is the same, i ran an imported eeprom in my daughter board with a unichip. u need to modify to wastegate port because the turbo is on the small side for this car. so u will need to get it bored bigger, the lever and button need to bf changed as well. this will prevent the boost creep at high rpm.

Seeing as this is expected.

Ok Slow down there "Internet tuner" , I wasn't being rude to gary57

You get personal mighty quick young man, just imagine if I took it personally just as quickly where would that leave you?.
If its proof you want why dont you just ask for it instead of telling him he is wrong?
While on that subject why dont you provide proof that what Gary says is impossible.

When some of the moisture behind your ears evaporates you may find that theory and reality are sometimes not exactly the same thing.

PPhinx29 May 2007, 23:20

I asked Gary what TD04H he had,There are a number of TD04H out there on the market in SA if you both Re-read the posts you will see.
I never said he couldn't make the numbers I asked for proof and if I was proved wrong then fine thats life (you live you learn) . Also "cowboy" If you have the T-shirt post the flow maps yourself and prove him right.

Because I'm searching for the proper flow maps on the TD04H-15T myself, I have been in contact with the UNO turbo guys and the TD04H-13T runs into flow issue on a 1400 Uno so I would like to see flow maps on the 15T.

Also since you have the T-shirt and all the knowledge wouldn't you agree that enlarging the waste-gate would suggest that the stock waste-gate / Exhaust housing wasn't designed to flow that amount of exhaust gas also is Enlarging the waste-gate best practice? (the forum is about advice)

Now as Gary increases boost it going to be possible that he will reach that "flow limit again" on his waste-gate and housing
Suggesting an improperly sized exhaust housing for the application restricting power. Also suggesting the Turbo wasn't designed to push those numbers in the first place because the house will be restricting flow.

Also the amount of heat stress now added to the larger opening and the stress added from process to enlarging that opening could cause the housing to start cracking prematurely .

Look Gary will prove his point, I never said he wouldn't . But now your "Ass -u-ming" again that I did.
And I don't build cars or modify car for a living, But the above are concerning issues in my eyes

lets just stop the arguing, i know what power the car make and it goes, i couldnt give a rats ass if none of u believe me. phinx i invite u when u next in dbn to come for a drive and ill show u how it goes, maybe freddie would like to come with and report back to you? in the mean time the next best thing i will do is video a run from 0-200kmh and u decide, last time i did it it took about 14secs. anything more i cant say nor care if u believe me or not.

1st I didnt say he is right or wrong I have no interest in the argument except for the fact that as a know fuckall pimply youth you are very quick to tell people who are doing stuff you can only dreanm about that they are wrong.

Now my little friend a warning.
I do not allow children to speak to me like that and you have used up all my allowance for the impetuosity of youth.
I suggest that you lay off the personal insults before you really annoy me.

VVladeadmin30 May 2007, 09:05

I believe you... Had the same issue when I told people I hit an accidental 1.1 bar with a T25 ๐Ÿ˜ฎ But it was a modified T25

Look Gary, I can predict the future!!!

I think at this point Gary, if you're happy with your setup and the way its running and if its running reliably then its cool. Those figures are impressive and if you do Dyno it again one day I'd like to see the graph, it would be interesting to see the shape etc. The dyno "should" also show IF you're pushing the turbo waaayyy out of its efficiency range. Pushing a turbo a little isnt a bad thing, just have some bucks spare to service/rebuild it in case, I learnt that the hard way ๐Ÿ˜‰

(Yawn)

Ok Fine after speaking with Sokar your right ,
To avoided and argument and name calling like "Toby" requested in a previous post it makes the forum look bad and that why I said "sorry" in the previous post if i sounded rude.

I lay down my arms but please:

People just please think for yourselves stop being lazy and believing everything you hear, Phone around, do the research, contact the people, Buy the books get your hands dirty and then when your informed make your choice.

GGary5730 May 2007, 10:39

i agree phinx, i did alot of research into this setup and it is the best for me. sure i probably would make 300rwkw but i am after drivability not driftability. i would rather be the sheperd than a sheep in a hurd, sometimes majority is wrong.

Thanks Gary...

If the Set-up makes you happy run with it, And I hope you get 180WKW because then your in the region of modified SR20's

It takes balls to admit you made a mistake.
I have made tons on my SX, from bending valve because I didn't read correctly to not studding the turbo correctly.

So sorry , hope it work out

GGary5730 May 2007, 12:25

I hope I get the figures as well if not well doesnt really matter, beside all dynos talk KAK anyway ๐Ÿ˜‚ .

HHennie Marais30 May 2007, 16:15

what ratio turbine housing did you use

GGary5730 May 2007, 16:23

Where did you get a flow map from?? Been searching for ages for it.

Not sure what the A/R ratio is, it should be STD TD04 what ever that is.

The car makes 180RwKw or about there (dont trust dyno's) so if you work on a 75% efficent drivetrain gives you about 240Kw ATF.

***Was busy replying to your post when you edited it, why???***

HHennie Marais30 May 2007, 16:26

Sorry, thought it might look like I wanted to start a arguement again, so I removed it. I've got a LOT of the maps of most of the turbos, it's a must to calculate what to use.

GGary5730 May 2007, 16:27

Please send me the TD04H-15T one, not lieing been looking for aboit 2 years.

Sorry, thought it might look like I wanted to start a arguement again

Probably safer that way ๐Ÿ˜‚ .
