Racing seats fitted (S13)

DDoctor G10 Aug 2007, 15:22

Finally got the seats fitted in the s13. Looks really good, BUT, as expected, they are sitting a little bit too high.

I notice that there is space to lower the driver seat, but the passenger side rail is right down against that 'bump' in the floorboard.

The only option I see to lower the passenger side seat is by removing the middle exhaust box and flattening that bulge in the floorboards with a 5 pound hammer.

I'd love to know how anyhone else managed to get their seats the correct hight?? :?: :?: 😮

Oh is that what that bulge is/'was for. i always wondered

ummm mine is probably now 3/5cm higher than normal, but I like it now... Calibrator can also fit in the car, without the need to open the sun roof šŸ˜€

I agree those do look awesome! How much were they? Are they a problem at the current hight?

DDanielmoderator11 Aug 2007, 20:02

ja looks really great

TTobyadmin11 Aug 2007, 20:53

WOW... looks very good! Doesn't seem too high from the pics...

DDoctor G12 Aug 2007, 07:38

Thanks guys.

The hight is not so much of a problem for the passenger, but as a tall driver the gap between the steering and the legs as well as between the roofline and the head has decreased quite a bit.

It is amazing what a difference 3 or 4 centimeters can make! šŸ˜› šŸ˜€

Gonna try and get the driver seat down a bit next week end and then I'll figure out something for the passenger side.

Q: I think on Vlade's car I saw the back seat was re-upholstered. Looked really good. Was wondering where it was done and how much that sets a personb back.

Make sure you date girls < 6ft

I can't see that there's a solution other than something drastic like you have in mind. Maybe cutting and putting in a plate to cover the hole is a better idea.

Maybe before doing all that check google?

so pretty, the seats look great šŸ˜€

hey G

you've really done a good job with this sx man.

well done.

anyone who hasnt seen it up close, really needs to convince G to join the next meet, and go see it!

Thanks V,

But my S13 is still a baby compared to some of the rides I've read about on this forum and seen at Caver's shop.
😮

vveecee14 Aug 2007, 11:59

my pleasure dude.

and dont worry - yours is still mostly stock engine and power wise, but you've been concentrating on the look and feel of it.

thats what i am impressed by.

the tinted glass, the seats, the steering wheel, the mags, the sound...

compared to mine its way better in that regard.

but soon its gonna be time for suspension, and then power!

DDoctor G14 Aug 2007, 12:33

he he...

Cosmetic mods are what us guys without the big bucks do...LOL

Trust me if I had the bucks she'd be making 400whp by now 8)

ps: got the bootlid smoothed out and the holes from the OEM spoiler filled. No crappy body filler. Metal circles welded on, grinded off. Then prep and painted. Just in time for summer rains too šŸ™‚

Next up I need to get that leaky ex-manifold sorted that I've been biatching about so long now... (and before I burn a valve)

just bring it around one saturday!
