Friends, Romans, Gentlemen Tuners, lend me your ears!

howdee, fiddled with the SX and found that it jumped two teeth on the cambelt. Fixed it, and it is a lot smoother now, but...

give a listen to the vid, two sounds are muffing me.

the "krrrr" in the eccs when I apply juice
the airbox puffs/growls (at least it doesn;t WOOF like it used to)

ideas pending please...

anyway, side notes:

just did a service, new everything
cleaned MAF recently
no error codes
pumped the tyre
charged the battery
still have to wash though... 😁

(stock everything for those two who don't know)

There seems to me a dog and cat in your engine, might be a rat and a cat....open her up and let them beasts out.

wwidowmaker17 Mar 2014, 15:03

That was after I opened 'er up. My back and legs are still killing me, so don't wanna do it again soon...
Maybe they snuck in behind my back

Any help here people? Quick revving is a no-no, but I can get the revs up slowly, but then it doesn't run for long after I drop the revs again. What is that clicking sound in the eccs or thereabouts? It is rather loud and on my PC it is obvious, but my wife's laptop you can barely hear either sound.

SSonOfAnarchy ZAadmin17 Mar 2014, 15:12

SSonOfAnarchy ZAadmin18 Mar 2014, 12:17

lol dude my garage is a mess lol. but if it doesnt move then theres a big issue there ive got a timing light that works lol and you dony need a coil out to use it. is the car firing on all 4s?

wwidowmaker18 Mar 2014, 18:04

yep, although it sounded like it was running on 3 before. Still the krrr from the plenum.

Hey Man,

This is my first post here.

Just my idea of what it can be...maybe the krrrr your hearing is spark jumping. When you held the camera by the air box, it sounded
like its got a miss. Take your coil packs out and make sure they in good condition with no cracks anywhere.

Does the frequency of the krrrr increase as the rpm rises?

Hope this helps 😉
