how much is the licence?

also - the drifters get 15 minutes?

wasn't there talk of a bigger show with more time for the drifters to play???

VVladeadmin04 Jan 2008, 13:12

I think that is for the 28th or something like that, this is more for the oval guys IIRC.

vveecee04 Jan 2008, 13:12

aahh - ok cool.

CChemCooladmin04 Jan 2008, 17:28

I will be there.

DDracomoderator07 Jan 2008, 08:51

TTobyadmin08 Jan 2008, 07:02

We will need one "show drifter" to do the 15 minute segment on the 12th. Who will it be? 🙂

SSokar08 Jan 2008, 14:11

Bruno would probably be the best candidate, anyone heard from him, is he back in the land of the living yet? If not Bruno the definately George, that dude is smoking at the moment!

CChemCooladmin08 Jan 2008, 14:18

Get hold of him. That is Bruno.

HHotstuff08 Jan 2008, 16:28

Okay!!!

So who's all going to be there? Are we gonna arrange a braai and stuff???

Lets get the new year off to a good start...

CChemCooladmin08 Jan 2008, 16:44

And yes, this time around somebody please take control of the braai etc.
Thank you
Chem 😂

vveecee08 Jan 2008, 20:40

Lazy-ass.

Well the once-off gazebo has had it's once-off moment but I can bring a braai, table and a chair or two. I suggest a bring-and-braai so everyone can choose their own meat. I can organise good boerewors on request, and I'll have little bit extra just in case.

Doesn't any1 have a big umbrella like device? (hint, not an sx mod) Try to bring your hat/sunscreen/aloe-vera cream with, it being hot or raining acid n all.

 Freddie you are actually the best co-ordinator because many people already have your number AND your sx is running AND you're more reliable than any corolla

So send out a mail please Mr president when you think the details are sorta ironed out (but preferably around lunch time Wedsday if possible to give the guys the most time to ponder).

As far as I have it we want to be finished braaing by 16:00, I don't know what Show Cars is but it sounds cool. So I suggest this timing:

11:00 get to convoy point [we can meet at the Shell again in Midrand?]
12:00 arrive at the rock
13-14:00 start braaing
16:00 Show cars start

We'll also have to get someone (maybe someone that lives closish, like Jon or Duane *cough*) to pitch up early enough to get 1 of the better spots. I'm not going to quote numbers but it's going to be busy.

As for the drifting I nominate Bruno if he's around but George is the best alternative. I think it's basically unanimous, except that George hasn't posted on the thread 😉

CChemCooladmin09 Jan 2008, 00:38

No,no, not lazy ass, just dont have the equipment and my sx is not idling 😈
But you doing well. I will help to braai, is that ok??
Chem 8)

BTW the spot will be nice on those banks I would say, looking down on the track.

Well ok I don't mind organising a bit. Can I make my title photographer/events co-ordinator?!?! Been here a year and a promotion sounds cool! 😛

Yes in fact if you take care of braaing I can take photo's of the uhm, event and pretty people 🙂)

Can you please ask Toby to send out a mail and ask that people call me or mail me or PM if they are coming so we can just organise better. And can we just have that map back up because several of us couldn't find the post with directions on. I know where it is now but I'd like everyone to know exactly how to get there, can someone in this thread pls also post directions from Snake Rd off-ramp..I'm not going to try that 😉

The spot you talk about freddie looks small, what I mean is, there's not a lot of space there, so we need 1 of us to make it early or else we'll have to talk to Tim and check, maybe we can even make a reservation or something.

Saw a new member for our club at my potentially new Tuners shop here on the West Rand, when the car is finished I hope the guy joins. He is having a Gotech pro fitted so the car is out of action at the moment..it's another white S13 🙄 😛 😛 😛

If Tim doesn't have anything planned for the bigscreen I reckon we throw a PS2 on it and we can have drift challenges in D1GP cars.

TTobyadmin09 Jan 2008, 07:11

Ok dudes, here's the deal for this weekend:

- We need up to FOUR drifters for Saturday 12th Jan (not one like I'd initially stated). Who's in?

- You can go practise at the Rock on Friday after 3pm (other days can be arranged with Tim). They got lights now.

- A one-event licence costs R50, but an annual licence costs R160. If you want an annual license, go apply for it on Friday 'cos it takes a day or two to organise. Note that your car will be checked for oil leaks, loose wheel studs, etc. Anything that could cause problems on the track.

- While optional, they highly recommend you take out insurance cover. It costs around R350 for R50000 cover or R560 for R100000 cover for a year (I think).

- Plans for Saturday - We need to be there latest by 4pm. Since we're going earlier, this shouldn't be a problem. We're expected to stay at least till 6pm (especially the drifters).

Let's finalise the plans so that I can send out a mail. I suggest that we once again meet up at Shell Ultra on N1 SOUTH and drive from there. I suggest a time of 2pm so that we get to the track by 3pm latest. That will give us time to setup the braai, etc. Any objections?

PS: Thanks qewrty for helping with the organising!

SSokar09 Jan 2008, 08:44

Just from past experience I recommend someone try and phone some of the drifters to try and organise, if you leave it to them to come to you you're gonna be waiting a long time!

VC and I would love to be there, but we have a pre booked appointment with a Bravarian bitch... 😛

wwidowmaker09 Jan 2008, 10:18

and thanks to Toby for helping qewrty with the organising!
