Who can help me?

I need details on local available pumps and jets, pipes ect....

GGary5703 Mar 2008, 16:18

Just buy one, will be alot easier and you know it will work.

mmario_200sx03 Mar 2008, 16:24

thats the thing, i dont want to just buy one.

I want to make it myself. make it a project.

you need to find yourself a pump that wont fall to pieces if it gets methanol through it.

then you need to make sure it pumps 120psi. as far as i remember. dont forget your fuel is pumped at 30 psi - so its a hectic pump.

then you need to build the electronics to switch the pump on at the right time and in the right situation.

and then you need piping, connectors and nozzles that can deal with all that pressure.

good luck!

i think these systems are a steal at 3 grand new!

150 psi 12V pump. That is what you need. nothing less. Agents like nos and turbo dont sell the pump separately, as far as I know . I dont know what the situation is with aquamist kits. Other than that, the above mentioned pump is not easy. if you can get them, and the price is ok, let me know.

Also, these pumps use pulse modulation. Aqaumist? Again I dont know

mmario_200sx03 Mar 2008, 16:50

Well, I find out. there must be stuff here local that we can use. 😈

KKimiG03 Mar 2008, 21:47

Where could you buy the complete kit from???

CChemCooladmin03 Mar 2008, 22:34

I think Turbo and Nos in Jetpark. That is the snowperformance kit.
Then also try www. aquamist in SA

Not worth it to be a project unless you a engineer with access to some high end gadgets...

With a turbo car its better to use a progressive meth injection system, that aint a unit you just gona build yourself...

The pump is the hart of the system... If your pump fails to deliver during boost, POP your motor will go.

The nozzles, except for it having to deal with high pressure... its not allowed to drip, which most systems apparently do anyway.

Lots of other issues as well....

rather make the project: You fitting a kit than you building your own.

I have seen some rice turbo golfers, doing this, however they just used the snow performance pump, hooked it up to a 1.5 L coke bottle under the engine bay and BOB's your auntie.... Just not right.

Exactly

mmario_200sx04 Mar 2008, 15:55

well, i will keep you all in the loop.

Just think its worth a try....

GGary5704 Mar 2008, 16:08

An expensive exercise if it doesnt work.

mmario_200sx04 Mar 2008, 16:10

Why would it be? you do your homework and source the right parts from the beginning.

U dont go all crazy and start bying parts for the fun of it....

mmario_200sx04 Mar 2008, 16:34

Your nozzle choice will determine the amount of atomization the pump delivers but a standard NOS fanspray nozzle & jet works fine for most applications - From the same site

CChemCooladmin04 Mar 2008, 17:09

Mario, very nice. Explain to me how this site that you have sourced, differs ? Meaning: it is still a kit. Which is fine. What was wrong with my idea of buying say a snowperformance kit? What is your definition of DIY. I also purchased the kit and installed it myself. That was my DIY. What will the cost be for all those part numbers quoted compared to snowperformance kit, like Draco bought? Did you see that pump Mario. it is a monster of a pump. It looks exactly like the snowperformance pumps. it is called SUREFLOW I think.
Also Aqua mist have similar kits and they are local.

But you know what is important? Forget the arguments. Get the w/m fitted. You wont regret. And then we can chat lekka about the science of it all.

Go for it. I want you also to enjoy the benfits of our so called "band Aid" system 😂 😂 😂 😂 A Calibrator comment and others, not mine 😂

Let us know how it goes.

Again I am so interested in the NOS nozzles. I would like to manufacture a certain size nozzle for my w/m injection.

I am a bit worried about the spray pattern of these nos nozzels. But we need to investigate. 8) 8) 8)

CChemCooladmin04 Mar 2008, 17:11

And then one of these days we will have our own little heading on this forum, all dedicated to the w/m brothers 😂 😂 😂 😂

mmario_200sx04 Mar 2008, 17:17

Dont get me wrong, nothing wrong with what you said at all.

Like in the site all parts is sourced from different places and so on, snowperformance does the whole kit - everything you need.

I want to try and source all of these part or replacement part at our local south african suppliers and compared the costs.

If you can do it right for a cheaper price, why not. Yes it is gona take allot of my time and time is bloody money! but atleast we will know that we can do it.

Its just about being able to do it. Its my project for now.

Will find out about the nos jets, will phone a few places tomorrow. As much as I could understand u shouldnt go to small with the size of nos jet cause you will not get the right spray pattern.

mmario_200sx04 Mar 2008, 17:19

Cost wise, that guy on the site after bying all of those parts and installing it cost him half of what snowperformance kit would cost.

Thats what made me do this project.
