Front hub

HHancoB28 Mar 2008, 11:35

Hi guys I'm looking for a right front hub for my sx. The wheel stud is broken.

HHotstuff28 Mar 2008, 12:38

no need to replace the hub... just buy the stud from Nissan, its about R7-00 each.

It has splines in the back that slot into the hub from the inner side of the wheel. See 240sx forums for diy replacement thereof...

Ah wicked cool thanx man!

HHotstuff28 Mar 2008, 15:35

...and if those useless sales persons at Nissan say they dont have stock... Ask for ones that'll fit onto a Maxima. Same part number as that...

HHancoB28 Mar 2008, 15:49

Thanks man that saves my a hell of a lot of money!

HHotstuff28 Mar 2008, 15:59

now you can spend the extra cash on all the finishing touches of your cars flush job...

HHancoB28 Mar 2008, 16:13

I think I'll use that to lower the car...but I dont just want to drop it with a dress up kit that cost R1200 and then still you sit with stock dampers and bad handling...How much is the cheapest coil over kit...and dont say TEIN...coz I'll smack your voorbarige lilly white arse...I dont live in Zim and i'm not a billionaire!!!!

ROFL - hey hotstuff, now you're a wit-ou!!! hahahaha!!!!

there's nothing wrong with a tein dress-up kit and stock dampers!

but you try calling steve hurley at koni. they do a decent set for about 7 grand.

then again - you could do the eldorado thing like i did, and get over 1 lateral G around corners!!! but when your driving skills improve, you'll realise that although it works - its not ideal!

I bought them at the Nissan dealer for R34-00 each, front ones are very easy to replace, they always just order from the factory for me. takes a day then it is ready for collection.

HHotstuff28 Mar 2008, 18:39

No way dude... Go and order the stuff from Motordeal Nissan on my side of the world...

vveecee28 Mar 2008, 18:44

or you guys could order from any decent nuts and bolts place. wheels studs are a standard issue item, just take the thickness (which i think is 12mm), and the length (cant remember) and the thread pitch (which is either 1.25 or 1.5).

the last thing you need to worry about is that it has to be a high tensile item.

the last time i priced them they were about 8 - 12 bucks each!

HHancoB29 Mar 2008, 00:00

Coolness man, i'll give the incompetent nissan sales person a ring on Monday!

HHancoB04 Apr 2008, 21:14

Nope VC not 8 - 12 bucks...its nissan....R23,24 and for a half moon seal R34,67

vveecee04 Apr 2008, 21:32

if you had read my post properly, you would see that i said it was 8-12 bucks for a high tensile wheel stud at any reputable nuts and bolts store! not nissan.

and i've built enough ca18's to know that the rubber halfmoons are 34 bucks!

HHancoB04 Apr 2008, 21:34

Still. Thats madness! Its a piece of rubber as small as you thumbnail and they charge you that...

vveecee04 Apr 2008, 21:41

also - you'd expect those two little pieces of rubber to come with a head rebuild kit at the very least, and the FULL rebuild kit too...

but no...

those are extra bits! so its 2000 something for a full rebuild kit, plus 70 bucks for the stoopid rubber halfmoons!

HHancoB04 Apr 2008, 21:51

Madness hay...

VC can you get that program the parts sales person is using at Nissan?

vveecee04 Apr 2008, 22:06

nope... 😕

HHancoB04 Apr 2008, 22:07

I want that program.

vveecee04 Apr 2008, 22:09

sometimes you cant always get what you want!
