Well since I got the roof done and the paint job all alla bling bling I guess I have to do something with the power figures!

So tomorrow I am getting my jap back box. I'll take some pics of it before I fit it and after.

I am waiting for my adjustable caster rods...now those are two little nice thingies! I'll be posting pics of the before and after.

And then I am doing a FMI kit and boost pipes! Smooth hey...

Ok so here is the bbbbback box that I'm puting on.

Got it for R550 from SA Autoparts.

Doing a 63mm pipe from the turbo to the box!

EEro_sennin03 Apr 2008, 09:52

nice box!! What is the inlet size? 63 or 76. I might just buy one like that if it is 76.

vveecee03 Apr 2008, 17:16

also - lets talk about getting an HKS backbox in south africa for only 550-00 or something. specially if its a 76mm inlet.

cos my SR20det is gonna need a nice beeg zorst. i was even thinking 80mm. but then i would struggle to find a back box with such a large inlet, unless i maybe go drive around cape town!!! 😂 😂

How did you buy the box, was it a shop or an order and where are they situated.

Hey! You can buy the backbox directly from the SA Autoparts shop. BUT it's in Capetown on voortrekker road....

I agree. I also need a back box that looks nice, not the normal looking muffler I have, and that one will look the shit. So where do we sign up?

ag dammit, I stay all they way in the capital city. If I drive down to go buy one my wallet would be as empty as my tank before I get there, especially with the latest fuel hikes. There goes that Idea. 😮

Well I drive, I buy, I post....

who makes it???

cos i'm quite sure i can get a similar deal from F1X zorsts up the road from my orifice!

my custom twin 63mm inlet backboxes were only 450 each, so it was 900 for the lot.

hey...

maybe i should get the 76mm downpipe, split it into two 63mm pipes to the back, and have twin backboxes separated, and then run each 63mm pipe into one back box. cos i really like those backboxes i have!!!

here's a pic of mine! they dont give it a hectic modified look!

mmario_200sx04 Apr 2008, 12:28

ok, well I think its a HKS pipe, I am seeing sumtime next week, then I will find out how it works, does sound quit fascinating.

EEro_sennin04 Apr 2008, 14:29

ok so go fit the damn thing already, I want to see what it looks like 🙄

HHancoB12 Apr 2008, 21:04

Ok so I did my exhaust...

Here is the pics, wish I could add some sound clips but uhm...my car is not running...doing a new clutch.

The pics tell the part. It sounds so hot. Ask mario...drove it so leka hard the clutch fried! haha

The plastic surgeon...

The offcuts...

The pasion gap...

The filling...

The extended filling...

The passion gap filled...love baby love

VVladeadmin13 Apr 2008, 09:53

so how does it sound, loud?

mmario_200sx13 Apr 2008, 10:00

Very loud! Droning noise insane, you have to shout to each other in the car, but it sounds like a beast!

I personally love the sound of it, but some people like little less noise. Different strokes for different folkes....

Looks good Hanco.... Well done.. 😂

HHancoB13 Apr 2008, 12:05

LOUD....VERY VERY LOUD!

vveecee13 Apr 2008, 18:39

so is it 63 or 76mm???

looks like a nice job hey!

the flex section is handy - you wont have to keep on replacing your exhaust manifold studs and gaskets!

HHancoB13 Apr 2008, 18:42

mmm...now what does it look like?(Lets see who can guess the best)

vveecee13 Apr 2008, 18:48

looks like my 63mm, but you said that the box has a 76 inlet, so i am lekka confused.

i could be confused because there isnt a nice detailed shot of the pipe going into box...

hmmm, sounds dodgy! 😮 😮 😮

HHancoB13 Apr 2008, 19:05

he he VC you are right. 63mm. They flared the pipe to the 76mm box.

The guy who fitted it also told me that if I want to do a 76mm normal bend pipe its going to be the same as the 63mm. His explanation was that the bending machines that Noise boys and power flow uses has a maximum bend block or something of 63mm. A bigger pipe like a 76mm will be bent and the bends would be a 63mm. The bending machine reduces the diameter when bent. He said the least restriction you get is from bending a 53mm pipe coz the pipe doesnt really reduce.

Interesting...so all the guys out there with 76 normal bend exhausts...you where fooled. Its the same size as a 63mm..or the bends atleast.

My cazorst had custom made 76mm bends, most places can do them, they might actually have been more than 76mm internally...

PS, incl the backbox, how much did you pay?
